Getting started

Meet your guide outside Starhotel Terminus at Piazza Giuseppe Garibaldi, 90 in Naples (landmark: Franco Gallifuoco Pizzeria nearby). Arrive at least 15 minutes before your 8:30am departure. Your shared Mercedes V Class minivan departs on time, so don't cut it close. Keep your voucher and a valid photo ID on hand for check-in.

You first get free time to explore Paestum archeological park at your own expense.

• The on-site museum houses an impressive collection of Greek sculpture, pottery, and the celebrated Tomb of the Diver.

Mozzarella factory visit

End your history visit on a flavorful note at the mozzarella factory in the Paestum area.

• Your guide will walk you through the entire production process — from the stables, where you'll see how the buffalo are milked using techniques designed to protect animal welfare and maintain hygiene, to the production floor, where artisans hand-stretch fresh curd into the mozzarella you know.

• The guided tour covers how this DOP-certified cheese is made, why buffalo milk produces a richer, creamier result, and what sets Campanian mozzarella apart from anything else. The session wraps up with a tasting of freshly made mozzarella.

• You can also browse the factory shop for produce to take home.

After your factory tour, you will be dropped back in Naples.
