Cairns Aquarium

The Cairns Aquarium is the perfect place for animal lovers. Start your day at the Cairns Aquarium, where you can witness the beauty of animals endemic to tropical north Queensland. The aquarium houses freshwater fish, pythons, emerald tree monitors, crocodiles, colorful reef fish, sharks, and rays. As you walk through the exhibition, you can participate in talks, presentations and live shows, feed sessions, and view the marine touch tanks. The aquarium also boasts Australia’s only 10-meter deep reef tank, a 20-meter underwater tunnel, a 360-degree Oceanarium, a mangrove boardwalk, and the largest freshwater exhibition in Australia.

Skyrail Rainforest Cableway

Explore the depths of the rainforest by boarding the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, which takes you on a journey above the rainforest canopy. After your ride, you can walk on the rainforest boardwalks.

Take a 2-hour tour at the Kuranda village, home to many unique artists and craftsmen. You can shop at the stalls between Thursday and Sunday which showcase souvenirs, local honey harvests, and mouth-watering tropical ice cream.

End your day with an awe-inspiring ride on the scenic Kuranda Railway, taking you from Kuranda to Freshwater Station in beautiful vintage carriages. On your way, you can witness impressive waterfalls, bridges over deep ravines, and 15 tunnels that cut through the mountains.

Itinerary

10am: Make your own way to Cairns Aquarium

11.30am: Depart Cairns Aquarium and commence your drive to Skyrail Rainforest Cableway

11:45am: Arrive at Skyrail Rainforest Cableway and proceed to the ticketing area

12pm: Board Skyrail Rainforest Cableway

1pm: Arrive in Kuranda and have approximately 2 hours of free time to explore

3pm: Walk to Kuranda Station ready to board the 3:30pm train

3:30pm: Return on the Kuranda Scenic Railway to Freshwater Connection Station

5pm: Transfer provided by Skyrail Coach back to Skyrail to collect your vehicle
