### Plot Synopsis

King Philippe V, also called Rylance, is a Spanish king on the edge of madness. His lost mind is a bane for the entire kingdom. Upon hearing the voice of world-renowned castrato, Farinelli, King Philippe seems to start his ascent into sanity. The relationship between the king and the castrato is at an all time high, but Farinelli has a tough choice to make - should he return to the hordes of fans outside the castle walls, or forever perform for just the King?

Mark Rylance is a truly great actor. "Farinelli and the King" was an entertaining, stimulating evening of theater. It was mostly a vehicle for Rylance's enormous talent.

There are no elevators or escalators available in the Belasco Theatre. Avoid the mezzanine and balcony section if you have leg pain or chronic leg issues.

No recordings of any sort are allowed within the venue.

Children under 4 years are not permitted in the theatre.

Outside food/drink will not be allowed in the theatre.
