Based on Tim Burton’s delightfully crazy film, Beetlejuice is an original musical that is loaded with humor. It is directed by the exemplary Alex Timbers from the ‘Moulin Rouge!’ fame. Timbers is a two-time Tony-nominated writer-director and has won the Drama Desk, Golden Globe, and Outer Critics Circle Awards. The musical is elevated to a whole new level because of the wonderful music and lyrics by Eddie Perfect. Eddie has won numerous awards for his music and performances including the Helpmann Award for Best New York Australian Work, and a Green Room Award.
Beetlejuice follows the story of Lydia Deetz, a peculiar girl who is strangely obsessed with death and ghosts. The girl finds herself extremely lucky when her new house is haunted by a debased demon and a couple that was recently deceased. Lydia intends to scare her parents away, and the ghost, Beetlejuice, is ready with a plan; an elaborate plan that involves an arranged marriage, a terrifying sandstorm, an exorcism, and scaring a girl scout out of her mind! Prepare yourself to be scared to death as you enjoy this spooky show that is peppered with bouts of laughter.
