Ain Dubai’s frame used over 11,200 tonnes of steel. That’s about 33% more than the Eiffel Tower. It’s an engineering giant designed to withstand Dubai’s coastal winds while carrying nearly 1,750 passengers at once.
Standing 250 metres tall, Ain Dubai is roughly twice the height of London’s Big Ben. From the top, you can spot landmarks like Palm Jumeirah, Burj Al Arab, and even the desert edge on a clear day.
The wheel features 48 high-tech cabins, including VIP and dining pods. Some can host small events, from birthday dinners to mini-corporate meetings, all while slowly revolving above the Arabian Gulf.
Construction began in 2013 and wrapped up in 2021 after multiple engineering milestones. Its delayed debut only built anticipation, by the time it opened, it had already broken five global records.
The steel spokes connecting Ain Dubai’s hub to its rim each weigh around 300 tonnes, roughly the same as a fully loaded Airbus A380.

Main Entrance, Bluewaters Plaza
The main entrance sits beneath the wheel’s support structure, accessible from the Bluewaters Island promenade. Guests arrive via taxi, car park elevators, or on foot from the JBR pedestrian bridge. There are dedicated lanes for standard, premium, and group ticket holders, plus wheelchair-friendly access and a customer service desk for assistance. Security screening is quick, and indoor waiting areas are shaded and air-conditioned.
- Operational hours may change during Ramadan, public holidays, or private events, so always double-check before you go.
- During high winds, fog, or sandstorms, rides may pause temporarily for safety.
- Evening slots, especially around sunset (5:30–7:00pm), are the busiest and often sell out days in advance.
- Arriving earlier in the day ensures faster boarding and more time to explore Bluewaters.
