Pro tips to help you make a pick

Because of the -10° temperature, you can only stay within the main Icebar for 20 minutes. However, you can be in the warm lounge outside for however long. Get a warm drink in the lounge to heat yourself and don’t leave with hypothermia.

Ask the staff for cocktail recommendations for drinks crafted to complement the icy atmosphere.

Remember to keep your ice glasses with you to get your next drinks.

You can get an extra drinks token with your free drinks if you visit the Xtracold Icebar on your birthday.

Although the Icebar provides a coat and gloves, make sure to wear thermal gloves and coats underneath to combat sub-zero temperatures. The bar does not provide shoes so avoid wearing slippers or open-toed shoes.

Xtracold Icebar does not have a locker facility. Only carry your essentials in a small purse or backpack.

Wheelchairs can enter through the main door on the ground floor. However, the Icebar itself is elevated at 5cm. Only normal wheelchairs that can be lifted can enter. This is not suitable for electric wheelchairs.

Although Xtracold Icebar accepts walk-ins, it is best to reserve your tickets as the bar often gets fully booked, especially on the weekends, and has a limited capacity.

The Xtracold Icebar recreates Willem Barentsz and his crew's third attempt at finding the Northeast passage where they were stranded on the island Nova Zembla for almost a year. The crew had set off to find the Northeast Passage, a shorter route to the Indies in 1596 until their ship got stuck between the icebergs and had to sit out the winter and polar bears.
