Who knew that salt could be so interesting? We had an amazing trip to the Wieliczka Salt Mines. Tickets are timed and you literally turn up 10 minutes or so before your time slot to meet your guide and off you go. An amazing experience with knowledgeable guides. The beauty of the place took our breath away. Just be prepared to walk. A lot! Tiring but enjoyable- we will return again one day.Karen

This was easy to book and from start to finish it was absolutely amazing. The tour guide was informative and fun. What an amazing place. Definitely worth a visit. So much to see. We even stayed and had a drink in the cafe in the caves. After licking the walls and inhaling the healing air we were super thirsty. Thank you to all for an amazing visit 🤩 We visited from krakow and got an uber from our apartment.Marta

The place of course was lovely and awasome but our guide Ola was outstanding. The best. She made the tour a great experience and made the difference.Harry

Great experience for healthy walkers; but with the amount of money you receive, having a shortened tour with a down elevator to start (perhaps 1 or 2 levels only) for slower walking persons, would increase income from families who all want to participate?
Meet your tour guide at your designated meeting point. Then begin your journey by descending 135 meters below the surface to enter a world shaped out of salt.
Uncover a salt wonderland
With 800 stairs descending 327 meters, the Wieliczka Salt Mine is a one-of-a-kind subterranean realm. Its nearly 3 km of maze-like galleries are steeped in secrets and legends. Bypass long queues and embark on a guided tour to discover beautiful chambers and sculptures carved entirely out of salt and saline lakes, the likes of which cannot be found aboveground. Gain interesting insights into the methods of salt extraction, old mining tools and machines, and means of transport from your expert guide.
Underground artistry
Don’t miss out on St Kinga’s Chapel, adorned with salt sculptures and reliefs that were crafted by miners in the 1700s. The glowing crystal chandeliers shine a light on the chapel’s stunning beauty. As you walk through, spot a sculpture of Pope John Paul II and a relief of Da Vinci’s Last Supper, made entirely of salt.
From depths to daylight
As the tour comes to an end, explore the largest chamber of the mine that hosts balls and sporting events. Then, purchase mementos from the souvenir shop and ride a real mining cart back to the surface.
