visited the Wieliczka Salt Mine and it was a very interesting and enjoyable experience. The place itself is impressive, and it’s hard to believe that what we see is only about 1% of the entire mine. Our guide was very good and made the tour engaging. She didn’t just explain things, but also asked us questions and involved us, which made the visit more fun and interactive. We also had the chance to taste the famous salt from the mine, real salt, and surprisingly very good! It was a nice and curious moment that added something special to the tour. Even though there are many stairs going down, the experience is absolutely worth it. It was a beautiful excursion and I definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

It was very enjoyable. The tour guide was very informative but also made a few jokes. The mines themselves were a lovely sight and the stories for everything was interesting. It was surprising finding the largest underground chapel and a banquet hall for weddings down there, but its really beautiful. A lot of salt, so I wasn't disappointed. They also have a food court in the mines at the end of the tour, so if you want to eat in the mines,it is possible. The food was okay though in my opinion, a lot of nice options around the mines.

An extremely fascinating place, the Basilica of St. Kinga alone is worth the trip, but there are other very interesting rooms. The entire visit lasts almost three hours, and to return to the surface, you use a very small elevator that is not suitable for those who are claustrophobic. The pick-up service is very useful, although on the way back, we had to wait about twenty minutes for a second driver to arrive because the first one had left without warning.

An Unforgettable Journey Beneath the Earth: Wieliczka Salt Mines Visiting the Wieliczka Salt Mines, just outside Krakow, is one of those rare travel experiences that stays with you long after you’ve returned home. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is more than a mine, it’s a subterranean wonderland where history, art, and human ingenuity converge in an astonishing display. From the moment you descend the ancient stairways into the cool, echoing depths, the atmosphere is captivating. The air is crisp and slightly salty, and the play of shadows on the roughly hewn walls sparks your imagination. What makes Wieliczka truly exceptional, however, are the chambers — vast, cathedral-like spaces carved entirely from salt, each with its own story. The Chapel of St. Kinga alone is worth the trip. This awe-inspiring underground cathedral is a masterpiece of craftsmanship: chandeliers, altarpieces, reliefs and even the Stations of the Cross, all sculpted from rock salt. The way light plays across the crystalline surfaces gives the chamber a sacred, almost otherworldly ambiance that words fail to fully capture. Throughout the guided tour, you also encounter miners’ quarters, fascinating exhibits on mining techniques through the centuries, and whimsical sculptures that reflect local culture and folklore, all crafted by the miners themselves. Each turn of the path reveals another surprise: a massive salt wall, an intricately carved statue, or a cozy resting chamber that once served as a meeting hall. The experience strikes a perfect balance between educational and awe-inspiring. Insightful guides bring the mine’s history to life, from medieval times to the modern era, ensuring that visitors of all ages walk away not only impressed, but genuinely enriched. Whether you’re a history buff, art lover, adventure seeker, or simply someone looking for a one-of-a-kind destination, the Wieliczka Salt Mines are nothing short of phenomenal. It’s more than a tourist attraction — it’s an underground world where human creativity literally shines.

The tour itself was excellent! The mine was incredible and the tour guide was really really helpful and awesome!!! What i didn't like was the information that the support team gave us that was not very clear and of course the worst part is that we paid 53 euros for "skip the line" tickets, which were 18 euros more from the actual price of the ticket while the line we skipped was just 10 minutes long. Please don't book this tour as it is not at all worth the extra money you pay to skip a 10 minute line.
