The Building and Surroundings

The  Architect Tomaso Buzzi was enlisted to create a non-imposing yet modern and artistic structure to be the residence of the Campoglio and Necchi family. What resulted is a rationalist-styled architecture that both flatters and maintains a sound foundational integrity. You may stroll past the garden's manicured hedges and plop down by the poolside.

The Alighiero and Emilietta De Micheli collection

This collection of artworks was purchased during their occupancy of the villa from the textile industrialist Alighiero de Micheli which included 130 pieces of paintings, ceramics, and furnishings from the 18th century. The most impressive work in the collection is Arturo Matini’s L’Amante Morta sculpture which can be near the stairwell.

The Claudia Gian Ferrari Collection

This collection features 44 paintings, drawings, and sculptures by artists from the 20th century. Works such as Still Life with Books by Carlo Carrà, The Shepherd's Family by Mario Sironi, and The Pure Foolby Adolfo Wildt are some notable works from this collection. The entire collection is distributed across the mezzanine floor.

The Libary and Private Study

The library is surrounded on four sides by rosewood bookcases. Its main features are the games table designed by Guglielmo Ulrich and the unmissable diamond patterned stucco ceiling. Angelio Campiglio’s study room is close by with its ornate furniture and an over Art Nouveau design.

The First Floor

From the delicate wood-lined atrium is a grand marble staircase that takes you to two master apartments on either side. The first floor truly displays the luxurious life of the Necchi sisters and their passion for art and couture.
