A visit to the Royal Opera or Chapel
Your guide will decide whether you visit the Royal Opera or the Royal Chapel—both architectural masterpieces and part of the exclusive access granted to this tour. The Royal Opera inaugurated as the largest concert hall in Europe, is renowned for its grandeur and acoustics, while the Royal Chapel is famous for its awe-inspiring ceiling frescoes depicting the Holy Trinity.
Walking the Palace
After your exclusive tour, you’re free to explore the rest of the Palace of Versailles at your own pace. Wander through the Hall of Mirrors, where the Treaty of Versailles was signed, and admire the King’s and Queen’s Apartments, the State Apartments, and the extensive collection of art and historical artifacts.

Suitcases and large-capacity bags are not allowed on the Versailles Estate premises. Bags must not exceed 55cm x 35cm x 20cm and must be deposited at the left luggage offices after going through the security check.

The following items are prohibited inside the Palace and must be deposited at the left luggage facilities: pushchairs, metal baby carriers, backpacks, umbrellas, and any pointed, sharp objects or blunt instruments.

The Palace of Versailles and some of its various areas are accessible to wheelchair users and people with reduced mobility.

Pushchairs are acceptable inside of the Palace and are allowed in the Gardens and the Park. However, it is strongly recommended that baby carriers and kangaroo bags be used as much as possible.

Headout ticket holders are prioritized before any other group at the Palace of Versailles. The ticket will grant you faster than skip-the-line access at the venue. However, please know that depending on the day of your visit, there may be a security wait.

Your guide will only accompany you for the tour of the King’s Private Apartments. Afterward, you can explore the State Apartments and other parts of the Palace on your own.

Note that the guided tour is only for the Palace. After the tour, passport ticket holders are free to explore the Gardens at their leisure.

Your ticket time is for reserved entry to the Grand Apartments. Plan to visit the Gardens and Trianon Palace either before or after your scheduled time for the Grand Apartments.

From November to March, entry to the Park and Gardens is free. However, on days with Musical Fountains or Musical Gardens shows (April to October), only children under 6 receive free entry.

With these tickets, you will be able to skip the ticket office and head straight to the entrance at Gate A. However, please know that depending on the day of your visit, there may be a security wait of anywhere from 30 mins to 2 hours. You may experience some waiting time at the security check.

Left luggage items should be collected at the end of the visit, before 6pm in the high season (April to October) and until 5pm in the low season (November to March).
