An absolutely positive experience. We bought the skip-the-line ticket to visit the Sansevero Chapel, and it was truly worth it! Outside, there was a very long line of people waiting to get in, but thanks to our ticket, we were able to avoid most of the wait and enter without wasting precious time. A genuinely convenient and well-organized service, especially considering the crowd of tourists. Seeing the Veiled Christ was moving and unforgettable: an extraordinary work of art that absolutely deserves to be admired in person. The concept of a "narrow passage" should be reconsidered. It is tight, but completely manageable even for me, and I suffer from claustrophobia. The atmosphere and fun among the visitors make you forget all your fears. The guide Camilla was fantastic, professional, and knowledgeable about historical events—she truly brought historic Naples to life. Through her stories, I learned things they don't teach you in school... Thank you for this wonderful experience!

We arrived about 15 minutes before our booking time as requested, and just a few minutes later we were in the center of the Sansevero Chapel admiring "The Veiled Christ" by Sammartino. This astonishing artist managed to convey every emotion emanating from Christ right through the veil, recreating with absolute skill every mark of the crucifixion, as well as the veins and tendons. It was so impressive that it felt as though a breath could escape at any moment. In addition, on the right side of the chapel, you can admire a sculpture by another spectacular artist, Queirolo. The sculpture is called "Release from Deception," and it is utterly incredible how he carved an intricate, woven net out of a single block of marble. I highly recommend going to admire these almost unrepeatable and incomparable masterpieces.

I visited the Sansevero Chapel and the Veiled Christ for the first time with a friend on October 12, 2026. It was a unique experience, thanks in large part to the professionalism of our guide (Francesca?) who accompanied us during the tour. She enthusiastically shared the history behind all the wonderful works of art housed inside the chapel. It seems almost impossible that the Veiled Christ was carved entirely from a single block of marble. An absolute must-do experience. The Sansevero Chapel was transformed in the 18th century by Prince Raimondo di Sangro into a family memorial filled with elaborate sculptures, coded imagery, and experimental ideas.

Veiled Christ: Stand before Giuseppe Sanmartino’s marble sculpture and examine how the carved veil appears to cling to Christ’s body while remaining part of the same block of stone.

Disillusion: See Francesco Queirolo’s sculpture of a man freeing himself from a finely carved net, an allegory associated with knowledge and liberation.

Modesty: Admire Antonio Corradini’s veiled figure, created as a memorial to Raimondo di Sangro’s mother.

Anatomical Machines: View the male and female skeletons accompanied by detailed representations of veins, arteries, and internal circulation.

What’s not allowed

Consumption of food and drinks is not permitted.

Photography is strictly prohibited inside the chapel.

Accessibility

The chapel is not completely wheelchair accessible. A narrow spiral staircase leading to a room comprising the anatomical models is not ideal for the disabled.

Additional notes

Pets, with the exception of service animals, are not allowed inside the chapel.

There is no formal dress code but we recommend wearing modest clothes since the attraction is a place of worship.

Infants from 0-9 years of age get free access to the chapel while those between 10-26 years of age enjoy reduced ticket rates.
