I've been to the Vatican Museums before, and both times have really been a great experience. The first time I had a 4:30pm booking on a weekday and the crowds were very little. There was still a line outside the museums we had to wait in, and another line inside to scan our passes. This time we booked with Headout for 8:30am on a tuesday morning. It felt much easier as we were escorted as a group through the lines by simply scanning our tickets. It was also not too crowded during that time! We personally wanted to have an entire morning and Headout had tickets left (The Vatican website did not) for those times. It was nice because we were not rushing at all. Definitely avoid the lunch hours to beat the crowds! Also they have a cafe/food area--lifesaver!

Visiting the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel was more than sightseeing — it was a journey through time. Every corridor and gallery holds centuries of human expression, from intricate sculptures and vibrant frescoes to sacred chapels rich with meaning. What moved me most was how the collection captures art in every form — paintings, statues, artifacts — each reflecting the values and creativity of its era. And then, standing inside the Sistine Chapel, looking up at Michelangelo’s masterpiece, was simply breathtaking. It’s a moment of silence, awe, and deep appreciation that stays with you long after you leave. This is not just a museum visit; it’s an experience that connects you to history, faith, and the enduring power of art.

Visiting the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel was one of the highlights of my trip to Rome. The skip-the-line tickets were absolutely worth it, as the regular queue was very long and we were able to enter much faster and enjoy more time inside the museums. The collection is incredible, with beautiful galleries, sculptures, and paintings everywhere you look. Walking through the Gallery of Maps and the Raphael Rooms was amazing, and of course the Sistine Chapel was breathtaking. Seeing Michelangelo’s masterpiece in person is something truly unforgettable. Everything was well organized and easy to follow. I highly recommend booking these tickets if you want a smoother and more enjoyable visit to the Vatican.

The Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel offer an exceptional cultural experience, combining unparalleled artistic richness with a unique spiritual atmosphere. The diversity of the works on display, ranging from ancient sculptures to paintings by masters such as Michelangelo, allows for a deep immersion in the history of art and religion. The Sistine Chapel, with its magnificent ceiling, is a masterpiece that inspires wonder and reflection. However, crowds can sometimes be dense, which can detract from the tranquility of the visit. It is therefore advisable to plan your visit outside of peak hours to fully enjoy it.

Bought tickets in advance and all print outs said 12.00 o clock. Went and met the guide who was not as discribed green bib yes - black and green flag no. We got our tickets to get in and these were changed by Headout to 12.30pm ! No explanation. As we arrived early (told to ) we then had an extra half hour on top. Hence 4 stars and dont think I would go through Headout again for this and previous experience. The Colosseum is fantastic and due to delay and then stayed in that long did not have time to visit Palatine Hill and Roman Forum. So worth the visit , but not happy with the wait.

Very helpful and knowledgeable tour team. We had a minor hiccup where it wasn't immediately clear that we had to meet at the office to get our tickets printed. After we found the office we went to the Sistine Chapel and tried to enter. They told us our tickets were already "used" . I called your customer service number and the lady helped get new tickets printed aged the guy at the office ran them up to the entrance to where you enter the tour. We finally got in. We just did it as a self tour which was fine with us. Thank you very much for the great service. Brian and Rebecca B.

Visiting the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel was one of the highlights of our trip to Rome — and the Skip-the-Line ticket definitely made the experience smoother compared to joining the huge general queue. We were able to go straight to the ticket collection point, avoid the hours-long purchase queue, and enter the museum in much less time, which was a huge relief on such a busy day.

My visit to the Vatican Museums was an unforgettable experience. The sheer richness of art, history, and culture is overwhelming in the best possible way. Each gallery reveals masterpieces that span centuries, from classical sculptures to breathtaking Renaissance paintings. One of the highlights was seeing the incredible frescoes by Michelangelo in the Sistine Chapel. Standing beneath the famous ceiling and “The Last Judgment” felt surreal; the level of detail and emotion in the artwork is truly awe-inspiring. The museums themselves are beautifully organized, and every corridor feels like stepping into a different chapter of history. The Raphael Rooms were another standout, showcasing stunning works by Raphael that are both vibrant and deeply expressive. Due to overcrowdedness and unavailability of lift for family with no children walking through the halls and through the stairs of the Vatican Museums in Vatican City is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience and a struggle. I would only recommend it to anyone without small children and disabled people visiting Rome. Eventhough it’s a place where art, faith, and history come together in the most extraordinary way.

It was very awe inspiring seeing the sights and how well preserved and restored everything is. When entering the the colosseum the ticket sends you to one entrance , only to be told we're at the wrong entrance, this is after queuing for some time. Nothing is clear about where to go for what. You should have staff walking around for people to ask if uncertain. This would make it more relaxing and enjoyable and not waste valuable time when you have a limited time to spend there. We also had our time cut short as they closed earlier than advertised, so we didn't get a chance to walk everywhere. The signage is not clear as to where you are and therefore difficult to get the audio guide to sync with where you are.
  • Access 2 of Rome's treasures: the Vatican Museums with the Sistine Chapel and the Colosseum, with a single ticket!

    Vatican Museums

At the Vatican Museums, and explore a whole world of art for as long as you like. Admire classical sculptures, tapestries, and paintings by Renaissance greats like Raphael, Caravaggio, Michelangelo, Bernini, and Leonardo da Vinci. There's an entire section devoted to Modern Religious Art, where you'll find pieces by van Gogh, Dalí, and Picasso. Must-visit sections of the Vatican Museums include the Raphael Rooms, the Gallery of Maps, the Sala Rotunda and the Gallery of Statues, and the Hall of Busts.

Of course, one cannot visit the Vatican Museums without seeing the iconic Sistine Chapel. Located at the end of the Vatican Museums and neighboring St. Peter's Basilica, this 15th-century chapel's walls and ceilings are covered by some of the most astounding frescoes ever produced. The ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, painted by Michelangelo in a span of 4 years, is considered to be a cornerstone of western art. The Last Judgement covers the wall behind the altar and is probably the most famous single work of art in the Sistine Chapel. Please note: Entry to the museums is by obligatory online booking.

    Colosseum

The Colosseum is believed to have been built as a gift from the ancient emperors to the Roman people. This majestic outdoor amphitheater was once the epicenter for entertainment, hosting public spectacles and games. Quite a bloody past. It was, after all, a stage for gladiator fights, often including animals. This is your chance to step back in time, marvel at the impressive architecture, and walk the floor of the greatest arena known to mankind.

You also get entry to the Palatine Hill and Roman Forum. See popular sites such as the Temple of Antoninus Pius, Temple of Castor and Pollux, Temple of Saturn, Arch of Septimius Severus, and much more. Palatine Hill offers one of the best views of the city. Once considered the most desirable neighborhood in Rome, it is now an extensive archaeological site.

The audio guide, narrated by local experts, offers an interactive map of the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, and the Roman Forum. As you walk around, tap the area you are exploring and listen to brief commentary dedicated to that spot. Tip: Bring along your earphones for the best audio experience.
