Last week

The process of getting in to the Vatican once we picked up our ticket, was very easy. Our guide - and I apologize for not recalling the name, was very knowledgeable, shared fun details as well as little known facts and made the whole experience very memorable. Yes, the crowds were there, however a good guide - which we had, knows how to navigate them and still allow us to have a thorough look at the highlights. This was the highlight of our trip!

Amazing experience and well worth the extra money to skip the queue. Special shout out to our guide at the meeting point from Headout. We had made a large group booking and then added an extra person through a separate booking later. The extra person was actually booked in a different tour group but the team on the ground made a quick call and sorted it out so we could all stay together. You made our day so grazie!!!

The tour took a little longer than advertised, so it’s best to plan for an extra hour. It was well-organized, with really friendly staff. We got a great impression of the museum, even though we didn’t visit all the rooms—it’s simply not possible to do that in the time allotted; you’d really need to set aside half a day. Still, it was a great tour.

Fabulous place to visit & definitely worth getting fast track tickets. We were met by a rep from Vivicos travel who was a delight. She was friendly, chatty and so welcoming. She walked us to the entrance of the vatican from their offices and took us right through the checkpoints to the desk inside where we met out guide (can't remember her name, but i know she was from the Philippines, so good at her job). I only wish our guide was as pleasant! She was quite moody & was obviously having a bad day as one of her colleagues hadnt turned up to work. She walked off quickly to.start the tour but i realised nobody could hear her anymore. When I told her she just snapped back & said 'I already asked if you could all hear me'. She didnt actually have her microphone attached so it was totally her fault, but no apology. One lady mentioned she still had problems with her earpiece but was met with a response of 'its not my fault'. That lady eventually left the group. I felt the tour was quite rushed in places, her accent was very strong and she spoke very fast. I spend £400 for an English speaking tour for 4 adults, wish I hadnt bothered with the guide and just made our own way around. That said, it is an amazing place to visit. So glad I booked fast track tickets separately for the basilica without a guide as we took our time and thoroughly enjoyed it as it is absolutely breathtaking. The walk to the domb isn't for the faint hearted, especially with temps in the high 30s, but SO worth it for the views. Great place to visit, but I'd definitely ditch the guided tour and take your time.

The tour was really great. Georgia, our guide, showed us everything important—and so much more. You could tell she was genuinely enthusiastic about what she was telling us, and she often pointed out the little details to us. It was very, very hot, so we all received a small bottle of water for free beforehand, and she also checked in with us during the tour to make sure everything was okay. After the tour, we were able to stay in the Vatican Museums as long as we wanted.

We have booked the skip the line tickets for the museum and Sistine Chapel along with the 2 hour tour. Indeed, we skipped the line which was very long on a Saturday morning! As soon as we got into the museum (we passed the security check very easy) we were directed to take the audio and the tour guide was waiting for us by the desk. The tour started immediately. Our tour guide Dora, was very kind, well explanatory and with very good use of English language.

Pets and other small animals are not allowed in the venue, with the exception of guide dogs.

While the tour is not accessible, the Vatican Museums offer free tickets for visitors with mobility impairments (certified invalidity exceeding 74%) and a companion.

Please note: All guests must pass through airport-style security. During high season and peak hours, the wait time at the security check may be up to 30 minutes.

Please be aware that during the Jubilee Year, certain areas of the Vatican Museums may be inaccessible due to religious ceremonies. Additionally, entrance to St. Peter's Basilica may also experience unannounced closures.

The Vatican Museums reserve the right to close any section, including the Sistine Chapel, due to unforeseen circumstances. The closure of any museum section does not entitle visitors to any refund.

Note: Michelangelo’s Last Judgement will undergo maintenance until March 2026. While the Sistine Chapel remains open, views of the fresco may be partially obstructed by the scaffolding.
