It was very hot and we did not want to wait in line to visit the Galleria. Purchasing the tickets online was simple and quick. Thankfully we showed up at our appointed time and we were let right in to see all the amazing art at The Galleria Academia. It was definitely money well spent. The gallery has a very good selection of artwork. I really enjoyed seeing works of art that I only saw in history books as a student. The staff are very welcoming and speak English, so it really helps. Even though there's a long line to get in, it goes by very fast because staff is very efficient and getting people in. Overall, I highly recommend coming to this gallery if you are in Florence. It is definitely going to be the highlight of your trip seeing all the amazing artwork there. I did give it four instead of five stars because it was hot inside the museum. Even though they had air conditioning on, it wasn't enough and it was pretty hot while walking around the gallery. We like imitating the paintings when we go to the galleries as you could see in the photos below!

The tickets were immediately available meaning when we arrive we just walked past the queue and straight to the security line, which was really short and quick. We loved the progression from the medieval artwork through to the height of the renaissance. My two favourites will always be Boticelli's, La Primavera, Leonardo's Annunciation and Michaelangelo's Tondo Doni. And of the building itself, the ceiling Frescos, especially the circular glass roof birds and the roof in the maps room and the window views of the Ponte vecchio.

We went during one of the first time slots, and it was very peaceful walking through the Accademia. The original David truly has a special magic; even though it’s located lower than where it was originally intended to be, it exudes a unique energy. Because it’s closer to the visitors, you can observe every detail, which makes it seem even more perfect. The Accademia has a larger collection that’s definitely worth a visit!

The Uffizi Gallery transports you to a world that I thought only existed in books and movies.
