We chose to book tickets for the entrance to the Colosseum and its arena, the Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum, in September 2025. The tour guide appeared exactly at the meeting time, exactly at the point written in the email to deliver the tickets to us. She was in a relatively mediocre mood, but she was quite explanatory and polite. Due to the several negative reviews, I was worried that we might not receive our prepaid tickets, which turned out not to be the case. We entered the Colosseum quite quickly without waiting in line. We also used the audio part of the tour, which we found useful, but not a lot. Overall, the communication with the organization was good and sufficient. I would choose it again.

Exploring Rome was an incredible journey through history and culture. The Colosseum left me speechless with its sheer size and the stories it carries of gladiators, emperors, and ancient Roman life. Walking through its arches felt like stepping back in time to the heart of the Roman Empire. Later, the Vatican amazed me with its unmatched beauty and spirituality. From the breathtaking art in the Vatican Museums to the awe-inspiring Sistine Chapel and the grandeur of St. Peter’s Basilica, every corner revealed something extraordinary. Both landmarks offered completely different but equally unforgettable experiences—one rooted in the power of ancient Rome, the other in the timeless legacy of faith and art.

We had an absolutely phenomenal tour of the Vatican, and it was all thanks to our guide, Mat (Matjes). He was simply outstanding, delivering a perfect 5/5 experience. Mat's deep knowledge and passion for the art and history were incredible. He brought the museums, the Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter's Basilica to life with fascinating stories, pointing out details I would have completely missed on my own. He was also a fantastic person to be around—friendly, funny, and great at navigating the crowds. Thanks to Mat, what could have been an overwhelming day was instead an unforgettable and truly enjoyable journey. I can't recommend him enough!

Excellent tour guide, she was clearly spoken and with excellent knowledge and a lovely sense of humour. Head sets were a definite plus as it was a busy day and we would not have been able to hear her otherwise. The monuments were amazing, worth the money and the visit. Everything was very well organised. There were toilet breaks and a cafe for a quick drink of water at the start. The tour guide was very kind to my sister who was unwell just before the start of the tour. She wasn't able to join us for the first part at the Forum but with guidance from our tour guide she was able to join in for the Colosseum. Thank you!

Buying tickets from headout can be easy and fast. They offered Chinese audio guide, 7 euro per person. But you need to download the app and bring your own earphones before arrinving, since you could only listen to the audio guide through your own phone, and the internet there really sucks. The thing I still haven't come up with is how did my family add into the audio guide smoothly, they obviously didn't mention it that clear in the technical manual. Overall, it is easy to use, but you need to do enough preliminary work. We still had a good time there.

448 / 5 000 The monumental buildings, the beautiful view that awaited us gave us eternal memories. Two small negatives are that there is no toilet at the prison where we picked up our tickets, the closest one is in the cafes between the prison and the Colosseum. The other is that it would make it easier to find your way around in the Colosseum if the stations were marked with numbers, because it is more difficult for those who go without a guide to find their way around. The entrance was quick and easy, everything went smoothly.

What's not allowed

Large backpacks, and luggage are not allowed inside the venue.

No storage facility is available. You can, however, take a baby stroller into the Colosseum with you, should it be necessary.

Additional information

Names are mandatory for Colosseum bookings. Double-check the names at checkout for a hassle-free entry. Be sure to bring a valid photo ID with you to gain entry.

Please note that timed priority entry is only available at the Colosseum, but the tickets for the Forum and Palatine will remain valid for an additional 24 hours after the Colosseum entry time selected during booking.

Note that there are 2 entrances: one for the Colosseum, and another for the Roman Forum & Palatine Hill (combined). You may enter each entrance ONLY ONCE and not re-enter.

The security check can take 30 mins or more. To make the process quicker, please insert any object (including mobile phone) in the bag/backpack or in the tray to be included in the X-ray.

Going for the audio guide? Simply ensure that the guides are downloaded on the Headout app before your visit. It’s super simple to use, and you get offline access with an easy language-switching feature. Just make sure your phone is fully charged and don’t forget to bring your favorite headphones!

If you’ve selected a variant with Mamertine Prison access, your visit begins at the Mamertine Prison (Via Clivo Argentario). Please arrive here at least 1 hour before your Colosseum time slot to collect your ticket.
