Purchase and receipt of the tickets was very easy and of course the Colosseium was very, very impressive. Just one thing made it a little bit frustrating on the day and that was that we didn't really see any particular entrance to go to. That could have been us not paying attention, or it might be that it wasn't made clear on the information we had. As you can imagine, there are a huge number of people milling about and after waiting in one queue we were told to go to another which was a little bit annoying but did not detract from the visit overall. The audio guide worked well too and gave you some real insights into life within the Colosseum. Would definitely recommend and say it's a must do!

My visit to the Colosseum was one of the highlights of my time in Rome. I visited the Colosseum, Mamertine Prison, the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, and each place gave me a different perspective on the history of ancient Rome. Walking through the Forum and Palatine Hill was especially fascinating, as I could see the remains of a city that once stood at the center of the Roman world. Mamertine Prison was another particularly memorable stop, with its atmosphere and centuries of history. The crowds around the Colosseum were expected, but they didn’t take away from the experience. Exploring these iconic places at my own pace made the day feel personal, immersive and unforgettable.

The most memorable part was actually Forum and Palatine Hill in which you get epic views of the Colosseum from the outside. I personally did not think it was worth it to go in to the Colosseum where we were shuffled like cattle through narrow halls with 1000s of other people while helicopters roared around overhead . It was very difficult to appreciate the epicness of the place at the same time, I mean, sure it was nice to see but the outside was almost more impressive, I would save my money to be honest.

An amazing experience and definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Rome! Everything went smoothly, the tickets were easy to use, and we had no problems entering. Seeing the Colosseum in person was truly impressive, and walking through the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill made the experience even more special. So much history in one place! Ian was very informative. He had a wonderful sense of humor. We appreciated how thoughtful he was to all the families. He made sure we had bathroom breaks and pointed out water fountains so we could refill our water bottles. He kept us on time and also gave us time to take pictures. Thank you for the awesome tour! Hello, Rome was magnificent again, as always. This time, I visited the legendary 2,000-year-old must-see structure, the Colosseum, with my son. I was just as amazed as the first time I saw it. This time, I also added the Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum to the trip, alongside the Pantheon, which I hadn't seen before either. On my previous trip, I hadn't gone inside to avoid waiting in the ticket line; this time, we bought our tickets from Headout before going. We toured with great ease without waiting in any lines at all. By entering without waiting in line at all, we didn't waste any time and spent our time much more efficiently without getting tired. What’s not allowed

Objects such as large bags, sharp items and loose electronics must be placed in the X-ray tray during security screening.

Additional information

If your access includes Mamertine Prison, your visit must begin there and you must arrive at least 1 hour before your Colosseum time slot to collect your entry ticket.

Timed access applies to the Colosseum only; Forum and Palatine Hill can be visited anytime within 24 hours but each entrance may be used only once.

Note that there are 2 entrances: one for the Colosseum, and another for the Roman Forum & Palatine Hill (combined). You may enter each entrance ONLY ONCE and not re-enter.

The security check can take 30 mins or more. To make the process quicker, please insert any object (including mobile phone) in the bag/backpack or in the tray to be included in the X-ray.

Each site has different opening hours, so check in advance. Plan around 2–3 hours for the Colosseum, 1–1.5 hours each for Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum, and 30–45 minutes for Mamertine Prison.
