The place is beautiful! I highly recommend visiting Quinta de la Regaleira. Quite a lot of hassle around the experience: getting there and back in overcrowded bus was a strain (the bus back takes a huge detour on roads not designed for large buses and that can't easily cross with trafic going the other way, windy roads and driver not considerate of people standing). Entry time: we were one hour early and they wouldn't let us in earlier, so we ended up having to hang around and there is no cafe near the entrance! Lots and lots lf walking, was not prepared for this, no map was given at the entrance. In short, the place is beautiful, but the people managing the visitors experience have a lot of improvements to make!

The Quinta da Regaleira is no ordinary palace, but a journey into a world full of myths and secrets. Between the enchanted paths, the grottos and the famous initiation fountain, you can sense that this place is more than just architecture - it is symbolism cast in stone and nature. The neo-Gothic manor house sits enthroned like a fairytale castle, while the gardens with hidden lakes, secret tunnels and exotic plants invite you to explore. If you take your time, it is easy to get lost in the labyrinth of paths and imagination. A visit here is not just an excursion, but an experience that will stay with you for a long time.

We visited Quinta da Regaleira, one of the famed palaces in Sintra, Portugal. The gardens surrounding the palace are magnificent, a labyrinth of paths that lead to the properties numerous attractions. The architecture embodies several classical styles. The most prominent being gothic with numerous turrets and gargoyles. The initiation well was the highlight of the tour - an 27 meter deep inverted tower with historical ties to the Freemasons and the Knights Templar. The signage at the facility should be better marked for guests, it may be a good idea to review property maps online. Certainly worth the visit!

+ Entry with online ticket went well + kindly an employee let me into the wifi so I could show you the ticket. So very useful wifi at least at the entrance ;-) +/- the garden is very nice and the building too. However the plants didn't look as lush as they could be...and all the plants were like dirty with sand...otherwise all very nice +/-there were quite a lot of people...and in fact at the initiatory well I waited a long time - to get in with the ticket all went well...too bad that to get the audio guide I had to stand in line with those buying tickets and it took me 20 minutes. ...Can't there be a line just for the audioguides? + The audioguide is useful, and all points except 1 were working. I wouldn't have minded more information...especially about all these symbolisms that are being talked about. Very positive overall experience :-), thank you

It was such a beautiful castle and felt like such a fairytale experience. The timed entries made for a really easy and relaxed entrance into the castle (despite our entry slot being fully booked) and the only place in the castle with queues was when waiting for the Initiation Well, but even that moved quickly (although they do hurry you along to keep the line moving so not heaps of time for photos). We spent about 2 hours exploring the grounds and it was the perfect amount of time to touch all the highlights and make it back into town for some lunch. Can't wait to return!!

This place is beautiful, a very nice garden, especially the fountain "Poco iniciatico". Despite the very long queue at the fountain, things move quickly. The town of Sintra is extremely crowded, even on a Monday in October. You should arrive earlier rather than later. The walk from the center to the gardens takes about 10 minutes and with online tickets you can easily get through the entrance.

The queue was quite long, but it was absolutely worth it. The highlight of my trip so far, and I was already thrilled beforehand. A beautiful park with something to marvel at all day long. From the initiation site to the grottos and the many little towers... Simply amazing! The castle is also beautiful from the outside. Inside, I particularly liked the furniture and wooden ceilings.
