Moving forward, you’ll then catch sight of the Florence Cathedral’s iconic dome, designed by Brunelleschi which is as much a symbol of civic pride as it is of the city’s ambition.

Your guide will point out the palace’s impressive façade and tell you how it went from being a rival residence to becoming the Medici’s symbol of dominance. The tour ends with views of the Boboli Gardens, the first grand Italian garden, designed to reflect the Medici’s control over both nature and the city.
