Over the course of its 2000-year old life, the Pantheon has changed several avatars. It was initially commissioned by ancient emperors as a polytheistic temple, defying primeval engineering standards and eventually changed into a Christian basilica! Gaze in awe at the enormous dome with an opening at its peak known as the oculus, that covers the marble work of this polytheistic Roman temple-turned-Catholic church in natural light.
