A really great tour where we learned and experienced a lot. The organization was also excellent; the meeting point was clear, and we could store our luggage safely. Thanks to the headphones, we could hear everything very clearly. We were able to shorten some long walks (e.g., to the restrooms) thanks to little insider tips and perks. Unfortunately, we didn’t know that we wouldn’t be spared the security line, which was nearly two hours long. It would be good to provide more detailed information about this in advance. Unfortunately, we had booked a subsequent tour too close in time and thought three hours would be enough. Unfortunately, this meant we had to leave the tour early. I think you should plan on a good 5 hours for this tour. But that’s not the organizer’s fault—it’s just how things are. The tour was truly fantastic; my son (14) and I enjoyed it very, very much. Thank you so much for everything! We’d love to come back.

I enjoyed thinking about and discussing a little about how Michelangelon was given a lot of freeodom in choosing how to manifest passages from Genesis and Revelation. His freedom of the artist does not totally limit the meaning and interpretation of indviduals who are inspired by "Mike's" work, from their own understanding of Scripture. Regarless of Michelangel's own attutude toward his subject, the images he used, or the "models" he used to portray the biblical narrative, those who also know the narrative will, hopefully with cause, draw even Christian meanings from the images and their arrangements themselves. In other words, Michelangel's intentions, are not necessarily the controlling factor in how the individual viewer sees, values, and interprets the meaning of the art and its arrangement for themselves.

Despite the crowds, the guided tour makes it much easier to visit the Vatican Museums. The tour is very packed, with the Sistine Chapel as the highlight—and even more so, St. Peter’s Basilica. One small regret: we weren’t able to see Raphael’s Rooms.

Well organised and the tour guide was wonderful. She was very good at getting us into the Vatican as it was very busy. Also, her commentary was very informative and concise. Loved our tour!

    Yesterday
Our guide, Francisco, had very minimal awareness of the group. There were multiple times when people would walk away because he spent too much time repeating the exact same information or details that he then would describe as “actually not that important”—whether from boredom or standing too long, I’m not sure. One couple even went to the bathroom and back without him noticing and only moving about 100 feet in their absence. It’s evident that he knew the information, but the pace was incredibly frustrating and focused on so many details that we missed our entrance to the Basilica. He called us foolish and lazy then proceeded to body slam other tour groups and run (literally) through sacred hallways. I think I would’ve had a more positive experience with a better guide.

Despite having made an explicit reservation, we didn't get a fast-track ticket, and we ended up waiting nearly 20 hours to get in. We would have had to tour the papal tombs without a guide, and when we wanted to go up to the dome, we would have had to wait another half hour. At that point, my daughter had had enough, so we decided to leave. Unfortunately, it wasn't a good experience for us—and it was expensive, too.
