I had been to This is Holland once before, but I hadn't seen the current, updated presentation yet. Our guests from Malaysia were also very enthusiastic to see our country this way on a day when it was raining heavily and our plans to show them towns along the IJsselmeer literally fell through. Due to a public transport strike, there were almost no visitors. It is definitely a great experience, not only for foreign visitors but also for people who live in the Netherlands and are often in Amsterdam. On days without strikes, This is Holland is only a few minutes away from Central Station via the free GVB ferries, which is also an experience in itself for foreigners.

It was a frantic rush to arrive on time for our reserved time slot. Just admiring the magnificent building that houses the museum was a treat in itself. The sun peeked through the clouds, which a warm breeze was trying to blow away. The immense lobby was packed with people, after a quick pass through the attendants checking QR codes and… even my purse! Finally, the stunning second floor: Rembrandt, Van Gogh, and above all, Vermeer… plus the Bride’s House, the Delft pottery, and the historic library. I’m overwhelmed by all this art!!!

So grateful for the ease of purchasing tickets to Rijks via Headout. Entry inside was a breeze and app was easy to use. It has been 12yrs since coming to the Rijks museum, in 2014 I took my father (his first time in a museum ever!) Loved the space - plenty of room to view Rembrandt & Vermeer paintings. Sorry yet again not to see The Night Watch except through glass - we came last time to big Rembrandt exhibition and it was being cleaned - hopefully will be 3rd time lucky

Rijksmuseum

Tickets allow entry up to 15 minutes after the scheduled time. You may remain inside until closing.

Cash payments are not accepted at the museum’s cafes and shops.

Guests unable to navigate the museum independently may bring one companion for free. A companion ticket can be collected at the entrance.

Tickets are valid only for the selected date and time slot and cannot be rescheduled.
