We started our day at the upside-down experience which we loved and so did our little one (4.5yo). Lots of opportunities to pulled goofy faces and take photos. After 1.5hrs, we headed onto our canal tour which was hosted by a very funny captain. Got to see some very interesting buildings and gained a bit more knowledge about the city.

The exhibit was humourous but also thought provoking. The video portion was well done with bright lighting and amazing imagery, especially the water simulated with flower pedals.

The museum isn’t huge, which makes it perfect for a 1–2 hour visit. I especially enjoyed the immersive installations and the relaxed atmosphere. Its location near Amsterdam’s major museums makes it an excellent addition to any day of sightseeing. Highly recommend!

I’ll be honest — I walked into Moco Museum with fairly low expectations. Another trendy art spot trying to ride the wave of Instagram aesthetics? I was wrong, and I’m glad I was. From the moment you step into Villa Alsberg — a gorgeous 1904 townhouse right on Museumplein — the contrast between the classic architecture and the bold, rebellious art inside sets the tone perfectly. It feels intentional, almost playful, as if the museum itself is winking at you. The Banksy collection alone is worth the entry. Seeing Girl with Balloon, Flower Thrower, and Laugh Now up close — not on a screen, not on a wall somewhere in the city, but right there in front of you — hit differently than I expected. These aren’t just “cool images.” In person, they carry real weight. But what surprised me most was how well the curators balanced the permanent collection with the rest of the space. The flow from room to room felt natural, never overwhelming. Each space had its own personality, and the immersive elements kept things dynamic without feeling gimmicky. The staff were genuinely warm and helpful, and the audio guide added real depth to the experience. I ended up spending nearly two hours there — much longer than I planned. If you’re visiting Amsterdam and want something that complements the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum rather than competing with them, Moco is it. It’s vibrant, thought-provoking, and surprisingly emotional. I left wanting to come back. Don’t skip it.

We had a great experience at the Moco Museum! Unlike other museums, it was modern, fun, and very easy to enjoy. The artworks were unique and engaging, especially the pieces by Banksy and other contemporary artists. The museum is well organized, and the explanations are clear and accessible, which made the visit much more enjoyable. It’s not too big, so you can explore everything comfortably without feeling overwhelmed. Overall, it was definitely worth the visit and the price. I would highly recommend it if you’re looking for something different, trendy, and interesting.

Loved the attitude and feeling of the art in the museum. It was not just really foundational pieces on display, but it all held together in a meaningful way. Both I and my two teen daughters really enjoyed it. My favorite among all the greats was surprisingly the Robbie Williams section. That touched me in a special way. Definitely worth a visit.
