We visited TeamLab Planets relatively late in the evening, and by that time it wasn’t very crowded anymore. We had skip-the-line tickets, but honestly, we didn’t really need them because there was barely any line. Getting in was very easy and relaxed. We really enjoyed the food there. It was especially nice that the entire food offering was vegan, and everything we tried was delicious. The water area was also one of our highlights and definitely a fun experience. The rest, however, was a little less exciting than we had expected. A lot of it felt more geared towards children and wasn’t quite as interesting for us personally. Compared to TeamLab Borderless, we definitely preferred Borderless because it felt more varied and overall more impressive. Planets was still a nice experience, but if we had to choose only one of the two, we would definitely pick Borderless.

The HP studio in Tokyo is an incredibly fun experience and I actually prefer it to the one in London. It is much more interactive there.

TeamLab Planets was a “must-see” for us on this trip… but we hadn’t expected this event to be fully booked a whole week in advance. The combo ticket—for the day of our choice without a time slot—was a lifesaver!! And without a time slot, it’s the most relaxing thing you could ask for on vacation! Although we still had to wait a bit—due to the way things were run—everything was—typically Japanese—super organized. The evening ticket for the Skytree was then a breeze. Just go there, walk right in without waiting in line, and enjoy! It’s a shame that there aren’t any seats at the Sky Bar/Café. All in all, we had a perfect day, thanks to the combo ticket!
