Both Summit and Edge have pleasantly surprised me. Summit, in addition to offering spectacular views of the Big Apple, provides the incredibly fun experience of floating silver balls, as well as a glass-bottomed observation deck. At Edge, you feel like you’re in the clouds when you lean out over the windows, which are slightly angled toward the void. The sensation of standing on its glass floor is incredible.

I loved how they combine art and technology; it’s definitely not just about going up to see the view—it’s a fully interactive experience. I recommend allowing enough time to enjoy each room and take plenty of photos. It can get quite crowded, so it’s best to book in advance. What to bring

SUMMIT One Vanderbilt

Make sure to bring your sunglasses. The reflective materials used throughout the space create a bright environment during the day.

Please dress appropriately, due to the unique nature of the space and to avoid unwanted exposure to glass and mirrored floors. Pants, shorts, or tights are recommended as well as flat shoes.

Wear comfortable shoes. Stiletto heels, steel-toe boots, sports cleats, and other footwear that can damage flooring are not permitted.
