This ticket is a solid upgrade if you want to experience St. Peter’s Basilica without wasting time figuring things out on the spot—and the dome access is the real highlight. The “reserved entry” part helps, but manage expectations. Entry to the basilica itself is technically free, and you still have to go through security, which can take time during busy hours. What you’re really getting is a smoother, more organized entry process and often a host to guide you in, which is helpful in a place that can feel chaotic. The dome climb is where this ticket pays off. Going up St. Peter’s Dome gives you one of the best views in Rome—panoramic, unobstructed, and worth the effort. You can take an elevator part of the way, but there are still hundreds of narrow, steep steps, so it’s not ideal if you’re claustrophobic or have mobility issues. Inside the basilica, you get access to masterpieces like Pietà by Michelangelo and the sheer scale of the space is impressive even if you’ve seen photos. Bottom line: Worth it if the dome is on your list—which it should be. Just don’t expect VIP access; expect convenience and a better overall flow.

Well organized (including the May 1 announcement). I’d do it all over again. Being able to attend the English Mass was a real treat. The student tour app wasn’t easy for everyone to use. Sometimes we had to restart it from the beginning.

It was a fantastic experience, and our guide, Ricardo, was wonderful—he guided us safely and calmly through the tour and did a great job of keeping us informed and updated on the status and what was happening along the way.

We booked this tour months in advance. Everything was well-organized and clearly marked. The app led us to the meeting point, which was a small café in the middle of a square. It’s important to arrive at least 20 to 30 minutes before the start time of the tour. The guide then led us to the security line. A very friendly guide who took the time to chat with the group while we waited. Since it was the day after Easter Monday, we had to wait about an hour in line to get through security, but that gave us time to admire the basilica from the outside and take some photos. Then, we went straight up to the dome and waited another hour before going up (max 100 people at the top). The wait was well worth it!! A splendid view of the entire Vatican!! We chose the stairs and it wasn’t too bad. There are places to take breaks. However, be careful if you’re claustrophobic—the staircases are sometimes very narrow

I was so happy that I purchased the St. Peter's entry as even though we had to reschedule our time from Saturday to Friday, we were coming from a golf Cart tour and needed to get some lunch first. The gentlemen in the preordered tickets line told me that as long as I had the tickets, we could go in at whatever time. We got some pizza and then went in a little after our scheduled time. Getting to bypass the huge line of people waiting to get in was a relief as I have a bad knee so it would have been hard to stand for as long as I am sure those people waited!

We enjoyed the St Peter Basilica, it's amazing! But, the process of going inside was a big burden. They asked us to be their 45 mins before the entry time. But, the policeman who is very very rude, such a disgrace to be part of the St Peter (the most Holy catholic place) and he was very agreesive, no manners ar all, very arrogant closed the gate, and we waited more than an hour, 25 degrees with kids. We were roasting. As soon as we got in, all was amazing! The Church was absolutely breath-taking.

Visiting the Vatican and St. Peter's is a unique experience and north's should not be missed on your Rome visit. Guide Ricardo made the wait bearable and sometimes outright enjoyable with his explanations and helpful insights. My main issue is with the description of the ticket and reality. "Reserved entry", "timeslot" and "special entrance" while at the same time referring to the otherwise long waiting lines leads to believe there is a special line for people booking these tours. However we also spent 3h queueing around St Peter's square and that is not what I imagine when buying a "reserved entry" ticket as this was the general linearity everybody else. In a nutshell: great visit, helpful staff but misleading description, you have to wait in line with thousands of others ensuring the Roman sunshine

A real gem worth discovering. The audio guide is interesting and provides enough information to explore the basilica. If you're visiting the dome, start there.
  • Step into St. Peter’s Basilica—the world’s most visited church—and explore its art, architecture, and history at your own pace with a multilingual audio guide and a digital guidebook on your phone (approx. 2 hours).

    Getting started

Start your visit by joining the free-entry line outside St. Peter’s Basilica. After clearing the security check at the entrance, open the link sent to your email and activate your digital audio guide through your phone.
