From Rome: Pompeii Guided Tour and Amalfi Coast Day Trip

Tour was okay and ‘generally’ what we expected, BUT there is HUGE room for improvement. For example, we did not appreciate the hard sell at the only option rest room stop, where everything was overpriced instead of a general (AutoGrill) stop where we have choice on food and beverage. Also what really annoyed us, was the tour guide selling us on the Napoli pizza, to buy his 18 euro lunch deal, only to eat what was heated frozen pizza we could get in Aldi, tasted horrible. This was augmented by the fact that our diode seemed not to care for anyone else that wasn't ordering his pizza was really disappointing. Unless you were buying pizza from him, he didn't consider helping people with alternate options for where to get a quick bite to eat, especially since we were given only 20 minutes. It was frozen shitty pizza or starve. The Pompei tour gave us no time to see the gift shop or just take some pics. This was especially ironic as the tour guide, recommended some books to pick up in the gift shop. Definitely not happening, It was a speed trip so we can spend time at some Limoncella hard sell store location - unbelievable. Another highlight was in Sorrento , where Jonathan spent a good amount of time reminding us how he would leave us if we missed the bus pick-up time, but then didn't provide clear landmarks for people to make their way back, so guess what happened, people got lost. The guide just has no ideas of hospitality, empathy for people doing this for the first time, not a clue. He's very knowledgeable about history and Italy which is great, but that only goes so far. Definitely could use training in customer empathy, hospitality and hosting. The Pompei guide was good and entertaining, unfortunately just too rushed. Overall a very long day, will revisit Pompei by high speed train and hire local guide next time, and maybe try authentic Napoli pizza for the first time.

Our guide, Marius, had so much to say about Rome, the coast, and Pompeii. He efficiently guided our large group through everything and made sure we had plenty of stops for food, drinks, and restroom breaks. Pompeii was the highlight. It’s overwhelmingly vast and breathtakingly beautiful. I highly recommend it.

It was an amazing trip, Marious is a great guide and Giovanni a great driver, both polite and with smile they made our trip a pleasure.Rosa wasn't a very good guide in Pompei because she was in a rush and i felt like she wanted to finish early... Overall my experience was great , thanks a lot.

Exceptionally well organized, could not have asked for better, it was a truly fabulous day. Brilliant Guide Marisa and our driver Francesco made the day very informative and the hand over to our guide in Pompeii was seemless. Well worth it
