We went on a very hot day in Rome and were grateful when we descended into the cool Catacombs, our guide an English girl was very funny and informative she was a wealth of information it really does open your mind of how they lived then and the history behind it all, well worth the money.Richard

We went on a Sunday evening and this was one of the best tours we have ever undertaken! Very easy to find meeting point and our guide Andrea was extremely knowledgable and passionate about the Catacombs. The tour ran for 2.5 hours and was interesting throughout. Neither rushed nor drawn out its length was perfect. The museum of the Friar Cappucini was one of the most unusual experiences of our lives and the knowledge of the Crypts that Andrea had made having a guide a must! I can say even more so for the Catacombs which while interesting if visiting alone, came to life with the explanations that Andrea gave. We would have missed so much had we not had a guide which enhanced an interesting experience to an unforgettable one. Thoroughly recommended!Chris

Very well organised tour with a marvellous guide. Marta was a very engaging, knowledgeable and charming guide. Her presentational skills are perfect for the situation; her spoken English is faultless and her voice is very comfortable to listen to.
Your tour begins at a designated meeting point in Piazza Barberini, by the large Triton (Tritone) fountain. Once you've met your guide and joined the small visiting group (not more than 18 people), you will be seated in an air-conditioned coach and driven to the first stop on the tour - the Capuchin Crypt.
Capuchin Crypt
At the crypt, better known as the “Bone Chapel”, you will discover the mortal remains of over 4,000 deceased Capuchin monks used as decorations. The tour also gets you access to the Capuchin Museum where your guide will help you understand the Capuchin beliefs on life and death that motivated the creation of such a macabre memorial.
Roman Catacombs exclusive after-hours visit
Next, hop back on to the coach and head to the Catacombs of San Sebastiano - the main highlight of the tour. You will be part of a special group with exclusive access to visit the Catacombs after its closing hours. The eerie charm of the catacombs are usually lost when you visit it during the day and the tunnels are thronging with tourists. However, on this tour, you will be alone in the catacombs with only your group, your guide and the remains of more than a thousand Christians to give you company.
Finally, get dropped off back at Piazza Barberini in central Rome, convenient for both the metro and restaurants for you to continue your evening at leisure.
