I absolutely loved how my Amsterdam experience combined beauty and culture in the perfect way. The 75-minute canal cruise was magical—gliding through the historic waterways, seeing the city’s iconic architecture from such a unique perspective, and feeling the charm of Amsterdam come alive. Visiting the Rijksmuseum afterwards made the day unforgettable. Standing in front of masterpieces by Rembrandt and Vermeer, I felt both inspired and connected to centuries of history. Together, the cruise and museum created the perfect balance of relaxation and discovery—I couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

The building itself was stunning. As soon as I arrived, I was amazed by its beautiful architecture — a mix of history and elegance. When I entered, I felt both excited and a little overwhelmed because there was so much to see. I finally saw Rembrandt’s “The Night Watch” in real life. It was larger and more impressive than I imagined. Walking through the museum, I felt like I was traveling through time. Each room told a different story about Dutch history and culture. The atmosphere was calm, and I could feel the respect that everyone had for the artworks.

The rijksmuseum was fabulous. So much to see but a long waist and poor service at the cafe. The Blue boat cruise however was very poor. While the canal cruise itself was enjoyable the audio commentary and interaction from the boat captain was very limited. No. Lear directions as to what we were looking at and no interesting facts or takes about Amsterdam and its history. Very disappointed. We learnt more from our daughter who'd done a different boat cruise only 2 weeks before

Paintings, statues and plastics made of stones or ivory were sometimes really breathtaking, however in the most interesting parts the museum was really busy and loud. I've visited some galleries and art museums in Budapest, Vienna and Krakow but in none of them it was so noisy. It was really disappointing when I was enjoying just the digitalized Nightwatch painting standing in large empty hall when a group arrived and a women loudly asked me to excuse her. Probably I was in the way for her photo or what. The amount of guards was impressing maybe if they care even of people not being to loud, because the acoustic is great and calm them a bit down people like me will enjoy the experience much more. I understand that these days are about taking photos, selfies and making vlogs while going through the museum, but this is in my opinion inappropriate for artists like Vermeer. Somehow the Monet went unrecognised even though the painting was pulling me towards it from like 20 meters. So everything would be perfect if people will be more people and less like dogs in a dog school. I was not taking photos because I believe that we should enjoy the moment and not spend it staring into the phone. Iron maiden have same opinion on their shows and the experience was much better this year eventhough many people were still filming the show. Think about it a bit. :)

It was really a great idea to by a ticket in advance, since on that day there were big demonstrations and hence it was not possible to buy tickets on the spot. For the same reason once inside the museum it was not crowded at all. I was really lucky. And the museum itself was a fantastic experience, just as I expected.

I was surprised about the quality of dutch artist's work and the work that's being done to restore the Nights Watch. I didn't expect to learn so much about the history of dutch empire. I only had 1.5 hours to spend in Rijksmuseum but I will absolutely come back with my girlfriend to spend more time
