The Rijksmuseum is a must-see for anyone visiting Amsterdam, especially for art and history lovers. The museum is impressive, both in size and in the richness of its collections, and houses some of the most famous masterpieces of Dutch painting, such as works by Rembrandt and Vermeer. The spaces are spacious, well-organized, and meticulously maintained. The exhibition layout is clear and takes you on a fascinating journey through centuries of Dutch history, art, and culture. I recommend setting aside at least half a day for the visit to enjoy it at a leisurely pace. The audio guide is also very useful, enriching the experience with interesting and engaging explanations. Despite the high number of visitors, the flow is well managed, and you never feel overwhelmed by the crowds. In short, an extraordinary museum, well-organized and filled with iconic works: highly recommended.

This is an experience you absolutely must try if you’re in Amsterdam during the blooming season. We started at This is Holland: it’s easy to find and very well organized. The staff at the desk also speak Italian, so all you have to do is show up with your voucher and you’ll receive your official ticket without any trouble. The buses run very frequently, one after another, making the whole process very smooth. The park is very large: I recommend starting the tour from the outer loop and then moving into the central paths to get the most out of your visit. As for the cruise, I suggest evaluating it on the spot to see if it’s really worth it. The tour takes you to see the blooming fields, but it’s essential to catch the right time of year. This year, due to the heat, the fields outside the park had already faded, so it wouldn’t have been worth doing.

I went to the Rijksmuseum at 9:00 a.m. (tip!) and headed straight to the second floor to see the masterpieces, such as *The Night Watch* and *The Milkmaid*. You can easily follow the audio tour on your phone. There’s a lot to see, so be sure to set aside at least 2.5 hours. Afterward, relax for a bit in the beautiful garden. In the afternoon, I went to the Moco Museum, just a stone’s throw from the Rijksmuseum. This completed my journey through art history (from 1000 to 2000)! You’ll be done with the Moco Museum faster; without a combo ticket, I wasn’t willing to pay the regular admission price for it. It was very impressive to see the paintings up close and recognize the brushstrokes of the Dutch masters. At the Moco Museum, you’ll see many reproductions, though the stories behind the artworks are fascinating.

We booked an early entry, so no queue and so we were able to move around to see what we wanted too before it go too busy. By 11.30 we headed to the cafe for coffee and applecake and by luck were allocated one of the best seats for two. Refreshed we sought out out a few more art gems from the 17th century Dutch painters. A totally uplifting experience.

Smooth online process to reserve our entry. Magnificent building and equally magnificent inside. We liked the fact that the exhibits were in century groups, making it easy to go straight to the periods we were interested in. Also, very helpful staff , all very well organised. So much to see, we shall visit again on future holidays in Amsterdam.

It was just wow… I never expected a museum to be so impressive. From the moment you step inside, you feel the scale of it all—the huge halls, the lighting, the architecture; everything looks like a true work of art. The building itself is reason enough to visit. Each hall is like a journey through time. The paintings, the details, the lighting—everything is so vivid that sometimes it feels like you’re right inside those scenes. The works of the great artists are especially impressive—you can literally feel their energy. And another thing: you don’t just look at the paintings there; you really feel the history. The museum houses thousands of works of art and reveals the true soul of the Netherlands across the centuries. I really loved the atmosphere—calm, beautiful, inspiring. You can walk around for hours and not even notice how time flies. If you’re in Amsterdam, this is a must-visit. I left feeling like I’d touched something truly great ❤️

Great, because you can spend as much time as you want among the tulips, and there are buses running to Amsterdam all the time. The one I took dropped me off pretty far from the museum, but that turned out to be a good thing because I got to see a neighborhood that I really loved.
