The guide was informative, helpful, fun calm and knew how to make it feel like we were always just going with the flow and learning about pompeii rather than going on an 'organised' tour. The headsets meant you could explore yourself whilst listening to the guide also. Absolutely worth the money and a brilliant place to visit!

Friendly and enthusiastic guide with good knoweldge of the site and its history. Small group. Headphones worked fine. Well paced 3 hour tour taking in a good sample of the best sites to see in Pompeii. The Villa dei Misteri was a highlight for me with its set of frescoes showing a Roman woman's journey to marriage - life size paintings in very good condition. The tour inevitably left out other "must see" sites, so taking an early morning tour and then staying on for the rest of the day to do more exploring on your own definitely recommended. The restaurant at the top of the catering building in the middle of the site was very good - ignore the self-service queues and walk up to the restaurant - nice terrace with tables and views over Pompeii.

We had the most amazing tour guide, Theresa from ASKOS tours. I booked the small tour group, and overall we were about 12 people. She provided an excellent experience of showing us all the key places in Pompeii, while being entertaining and engaging. In hindsight, I'm very glad to have booked this tour as Pompeii could easily become overwhelming with both it's size and number of interesting sights. The Villa of Mysteries was also a fantastic way to end the tour.

It’s recommended to wear comfortable shoes as this experience involves a fair amount of walking.

It is recommended to bring sunglasses, sunscreen and water. Flip-flops are not suitable.

Only small dogs on a leash can be brought inside the park. Guide dogs with a certificate are permitted.
