Main Visitor Entrance - York Avenue Visitor Centre

This is the primary entrance for most visitors arriving by car or bus. Use the signed driveway off York Avenue (A3021) and follow signs to the visitor car park, then walk about 3 to 5 minutes to the visitor centre, where tickets are checked and scanned before entry to the grounds. On-the-day ticket purchases, member checks, and some voucher validations are handled here. Step-free access is available from the car park to the visitor centre, with accessible toilets and signposted step-free routes nearby. On busy days, queues are usually at the ticket desk and later at the house entrance rather than at the driveway itself.

Pedestrian/Bus Entrance - York Avenue Footpath

Visitors arriving by local bus or on foot from East Cowes use the pathway from the Southern Vectis “Osborne House” stop on York Avenue. From the stop, walk along the signed driveway into the estate to reach the visitor centre in about 4 to 6 minutes. Once there, you join the same entry flow as everyone else for ticket checks, bag checks if required, and access to the grounds. The route is generally step-free with a gentle incline, though some visitors may still find the slope tiring. This is the most direct option if you are not driving.
