The guide explained the cathedral is no longer allowing interior group tours. He explained the history and exterior facade very well but had to leave us in the queue for the interior. You can wait in line (we waited 1 hour in the heat) or you can book on-line but only up to 2 days ahead. They seem to open the pre-bokable tickets at midnight (Paris time) to book to avoid pre-booking weeks ahead. This gives those in Paris a chance to book. You will then have only a few minutes to wait. As expected inside is very congested with a one-way system. It is all very clean and bright and new of course.

Alex is a truly empathetic guide—he deserves all 5 stars and more! We start the tour by approaching the entrance to the Basilica, and he gives us all the details about the façade...We’re inside after about 10 minutes. The line moves pretty quickly, including security checks. Inside, Alex describes all the highlights (my absolute favorite is the 8,000-pipe organ, restored to its original splendor after the fire). Everything was explained in detail with the help of a photo album he used to show us how things looked in the past, as well as some decorative elements worth noting. At the end of this wonderful tour, we could have attended Vespers, but with a 6-year-old in tow, it would have been quite a challenge, so we took a few photos and headed out.

Andrea led the tour in English. We could understand her clearly, and she adapted to our pace. Her explanations about the reconstruction of Notre Dame were very detailed and knowledgeable. She was very friendly and approachable. She incorporated many different aspects into her descriptions—historical, cultural, art historical, and theological—and made it all very entertaining! We highly recommend her as a guide!

Our guide Alex had a wealth of knowledge and history to share from the original medieval parts to the beautifully restored central section where the roof collapsed He included Saintsand even King Louis XIV So an excellent presentation and very enjoyable Also I was lost at beginning and Yuri phoned back and directed me by phone to the tour group This was greatly appreciated

We had a wonderful Notre Dame tour. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, happy to answer any questions. We had no hassles getting through line. I loved that he explained the temporary tapestries and the artists who made them. Explaining the carvings on both sides of the choir section. A great day, stayed for 12 pm mass, which was just beautiful.

The tour was great. But I find it unacceptable that after paying €60 per person for the tour... we had to wait in line for an hour in the sun at over 40° because you don’t offer online tickets for Notre Dame—which would have saved us from having to wait in line. In any case, the price is outrageous, considering that admission is free....
