The guide explained the cathedral is no longer allowing interior group tours. He explained the history and exterior facade very well but had to leave us in the queue for the interior. You can wait in line (we waited 1 hour in the heat) or you can book on-line but only up to 2 days ahead. They seem to open the pre-bokable tickets at midnight (Paris time) to book to avoid pre-booking weeks ahead. This gives those in Paris a chance to book. You will then have only a few minutes to wait. As expected inside is very congested with a one-way system. It is all very clean and bright and new of course.

Our guide, a fine young gentleman whose name we have forgotten, was the very best. He was very articulate, knowledable and engaged us so very quickly. He stopped frequently to point out details, subtle nuances and give us plenty of history ... both from the beginning of Notre Dame through the current restoration. It was fascinating. I love the way he modulated his voice tone like telling us one story after another. We were fascinated. Thank him again for us.

In Danish: Actually, I ended up on a different tour than the one I had booked. I was late. At the meeting point, I was greeted by someone from Headout who helped me right away. I ended up on an outdoor tour led by Martin. He was knowledgeable and funny. I’m very interested in churches, and Martin knew how to engage everyone. I quickly got a refund for the difference in price between the two tours.

I have waited 40 years to come to Paris. Seeing Notre-Dame in person brought tears to my eyes. Natalie was a Wonderful guide. She met our group with a friendly smile and in many languages for those present. Her knowledge was stellar, and she carried an iPad filled with photos to accompany that with imagry, making the beautiful cathedrial breathe.
