We visited the castles on a gorgeous autumn day. The views from the hillside and castles were awesome. We especially enjoyed the history and opulence of the palaces. The tour was made easy by having an audio narrative in the language of your choice. A very worthwhile experience. Don't miss it! Side note: the Fairy Tale Castle can be a challenge for some. Although there are options to get from the village to the castle, it is still a bit of a climb. Once inside the Castle, there are a lot of spiral steps to navigate. I can't remember if I saw a lift or not. Be sure to check if this might be a concern.

We had an excellent tour guided by Stephen, truly passionate, knowledgeable and captivating! We loved the whole first part of the tour with him. The interior of the castle, with the audioguide, was a little less interesting in comparison - hard to compete with such a good guide! Fortunately, Stephen was waiting for us at the exit to complete the tour, and he made every story come alive and fascinating. Truly a superb experience!

Both of the castles were beautiful and well woth seeing! Pedro, our guide for the day, did THE BEST job of letting us know what to expect and how best to do things. I can't think of anything that he could have done better! Our bus driver really did an impressive job especially maneuvering the bus on the twists & turns & small town streets. I would highly recommend using this company for this tour!

Accessibility

Neuschwanstein Castle offers an elevator for wheelchair access. To ensure availability, we recommend you reserve it in advance.

The hiking trail to the castle is paved and partly very steep. It's best to use the horse carriage transport where any regular-sized, foldable wheelchair can be stowed in the trunk of the carriage. Please note that the carriages do not have a ramp.
