We booked this tour at the last minute because tickets to the castle were sold out and there were no other tour options available. The head out team could not have been kinder and more helpful in terms of accommodating all of my questions and concerns. And the tour guide Stephen was extremely kind and knowledgeable. It was a happy accident that we ended up with this tour- and we learned a ton too!

The Castle is beautiful but we were not treated well by the staff. The security were rude and because we took the last tour, at 4pm, the staff of the Store were kicking us out... and we were buying souvenirs, spending money at the Store! So rude! We went down walking with 2 kids and no security at all during the way. The castle is worth the visit but we didnt like the treatment we received at all!

Accessibility

Neuschwanstein Castle offers an elevator for wheelchair access. To ensure availability, we recommend you reserve it in advance.

The hiking trail to the castle is paved and partly very steep. It's best to use the horse carriage transport where any regular-sized, foldable wheelchair can be stowed in the trunk of the carriage. Please note that the carriages do not have a ramp.
