Sure, the Lisboa Card is really convenient for public transportation, and it also makes getting into attractions easier. The price for a 1- or 2-day pass isn’t exactly a bargain, precisely because you can’t visit that many attractions in just a few days—they’re often quite far apart—and you’ll still have to wait in line, even if the lines are shorter! In March… imagine what it’s like in August!! And then if you lose it, like I did...!!! Luckily, I only went missing for half a day.

Unfortunately, the priority access to the Jerónimos Monastery didn't work out, since a long line had already formed in front of the monastery and everyone had a Lisboa Card. I would recommend booking a timed entry slot online. Using public transportation went really smoothly.

The National Museum of Contemporary Art was established in 1911 and originally operated out of the monastery of São Francisco da Cidade, a building complex badly devastated in the 1755 Lisbon earthquake. Bear in mind that most national monuments and museums are closed on the following dates: 1 Jan, Easter Sunday, 1 May, 24 & 25 Dec, and on municipal holidays (13 June in Lisbon & 29 June in Sintra).
