CoupleVerified bookingNov 20253/5the tour bus arrived an hour late and the sound quality on the bus wasn't good so we couldn't really hear what the guide was saying. Also the canal boat ride would probably be experienced better in the day time. The tour was at night and so we could hardly see anything around the canals. The canal aspect also wasn't really centred around day of the dead, it felt like they advertised it that way to get more people to sign up.GGlenn T
SoloVerified bookingNov 20253/5The grave was very nice on that special night but the guide let us alone inside without clear instructions and didn't teach us culture about the place. We had to follow another guide, Ruben, who did really great! I give some stars only because of him. Even the boat trip was meaningless, we were just put on the boat without any explanationsSSusanne H

What to expect
The Day of the Dead is a joyful and heartfelt celebration honoring deceased loved ones. Families create ofrendas (altars) decorated with marigolds, sugar skulls, candles, and photos to welcome spirits back for one night. The festival blends pre-Hispanic beliefs with Catholic traditions, turning remembrance into music, dance, and shared food that celebrates the cycle of life.
