war horse-2

Watch a multi-award-winning play directed by the talented Tom Morris and Marianne Elliott. This is a gripping tale of a boy who adores his pet horse and will do anything to bring him home. Enjoy the spectacular play that boasts of the ‘Royal Seal of Approval’ from the Queen of England herself!

Why Watch War Horse

After its first run in 2007 at the National Theatre, War Horse is back in London and is set to win hearts. It is well known for the catchy puppetry of the Handspring Puppet Company from South Africa. This puppetry was so spectacular that the Queen of England herself fell in love with the horse, Joey, a puppet that has performed numerous times for her. Apart from the stunning special effects and skilled puppetry, War Horse is known for its moving melodies that are sure to strike a soulful chord in your heart.

War Horse is a National Theatre production that has been critically acclaimed and rightfully so. It has won Tony Awards as well as Olivier Awards on Broadway and has run in London's West End for about 8 years. After being staged in over 11 countries, War Horse has risen to become one of the most popular productions post 2005.

The Story

The play revolves around Albert’s beloved horse, Joey. At the start of the First World War, Joey is transported to France after being sold to the cavalry. Albert finds himself caught in the midst of bloody skirmishes and deadly battles, still unable to forget his beloved horse. Guided by fate, the young man finds himself on a journey to find Joey and bring him home. The play presents the gruesome battles of World War I in brilliant and harrowing fashion, as you follow Albert on his perilous quest to reunite with Joey.
