I’ve seen many musicals in London, but this one truly surprised me. I treated myself to a last-minute ticket on my birthday, after my original plans fell apart and I found myself spending the evening alone. What a gift it turned out to be! I honestly didn’t expect it to be this impressive, but it was absolutely stunning. From the performances to the atmosphere, everything was captivating and beautifully done; the show made the night unforgettable. I would highly recommend Oliver to anyone visiting London, especially those who love classic literature brought to life through powerful performance. Truly amazing.

It was really professional , the scenery was beautiful, the acting and singing and dancing were great. I cried my eyes out. I love the story it is funny and warm and the Oliver character (played by Ryo Appadu))was touching. Loved the almost sweet interpretation of Fagin and Dodger was lovely too!!! This was the highlight of my London trip, thank you guys.

Written by Charles Dickens, Oliver Twist was critically acclaimed for exposing the cruel treatment of orphans during the mid-19th century and also its unromantic portrayal of the lives of criminals. Award-winning dramatist Bryony Lavery has adapted this tale in conjunction with Leeds Playhouse to put disabled artists on center stage. Amy Leach, who has directed The Wonderful Wizard of OZ, The Shelter, and We All Fall Down is all set to direct the production which promises to dazzle audiences from across the world!

The story

Born into a poor family, Oliver Twist is left orphaned after his father’s mysterious disappearance and his mother’s death during childbirth. Oliver finds a home in a sweatshop, where he is mistreated. Soon, however, Oliver encounters Artful Dodger and Fagin and joins their troupe of pickpockets. He revels in this new exciting and adventurous life as a criminal. His happiness, however, is short-lived and he finds himself falling under the influence of the vile Bill Sykes. Will Oliver be able to turn around a life filled with misfortune and poverty?

I had booked one of the best seats in the house comma and was so looking forward to seeing the revival of this wonderful show period where you can imagine my abject heartbreak when when my uber driver took me to 35 chefs ferry Avenue in the depths of suburban London 50 minutes away from the Gielgud Theater. 24 hours later I still cannot wrap my head around what happened, but I can only hope two things: that my seat went some truly advantage the last minute cancellation coming that really a cancellation but you know what I mean comma and secondly that this production will eventually when its way to Broadway period I have no doubt that I would have absolutely been overjoyed, given the cast and all of the sensational things I read about this production writ large. View this experience as one of life's very little pranks but I did very little laughing last night or this morning. So it went period
