In the musical, two gay men try to pretend to be straight for the sake of their son, who is engaged to the daughter of a conservative politician who wants to ban drag clubs and anything deemed immoral. Sometimes maudlin, sometimes farcical, the musical’s underlying message to embrace who we are is especially relevant and relatable today.
