As You Like It Tickets

The timeless comedic masterpiece of William Shakespeare graces the Globe Theatre once more, transporting us to a realm full of mistaken identities and love in the enchanting Forest of Arden.

Why Watch As You Like It

William Shakespeare's As You Like It is widely considered to be one of the greatest comedies ever written. Reading the play is a wonderful approach to educating oneself about Shakespeare and the early 17th century. The play's exploration of love, identity, disguise, and the contrast between the court and rural life remains relevant and thought-provoking centuries after it was created. The characters in "As You Like It" are what makes studying the play so enjoyable. Whether it's Orlando's hopeless romantic outlook or Rosalind's sassy insight, every one of the characters in this story contributes something unique to the overall experience. Orlando, in hiding from his violent brother Oliver, runs into Rosalind, now known as Ganymede, in the woods, and the two fall in love. Through a series of witty exchanges and humorous misunderstandings, Rosalind encourages Orlando to overcome his shyness and profess his love for her, all the while teaching him valuable lessons about love, relationships, and his own nature. The actors and staging were fantastic: we loved the rhythm, the acting, the interaction with the audience! And seeing this play in this venue was magical! The only drawback was that the person at the entrance couldn't read the Headout ticket to seat us, and we almost missed the start of the play because of the time lost.

The ticketing experience was quite easy. Ordered on line from the US no problem. I absolutely loved the show. I am a bisexual woman, my late wife was trans. It was so heartwarming to see a show that celebrates our culture, especially in light of what is going on in this country.

Very good. Play was fantastic. I would have like the confirmation to be more easily searchable in my email. The tickets bought weeks ago were hard to find, but otherwise all went smoothly.

The management of The Globe were excellent, sorting out our problems with the tickets, which did not mention the cushions which we thought we had already paid for. I was not so keen on the actual performance. Globe performances usually feature excellent and inspired acting. This time I felt I was in the hands of amateurs and exhibitionists rather than accomplished actors. An inclination to show cultish support for non-binary, trans and gender-bending actors was taken to the nth degree and interfered with the interpretation of the play. Some of the actors just could not make themselves heard: they either spoke too quietly or too fast to be understood, which made the play very hard to follow. Some of the actors played it for laughs, making crude asides which were not in the actual play. Shakespearean comedy should come out of the words and gestures of the time, not pasted over with camp looks and clichéd gestures. There was some good acting, particularly the lead, Rosalind, in both her roles. But, unfortunately, trickery and finger-swearing don't help to make an inaudible actor be heard, nor does a cultish obsession with non-binary values help to untangle an admittedly already tangly Shakespearean plot.
