Direct entry to the tour, BUT we were not given the tour plan. The Chateau de Chambord is an architectural marvel, and the visit was very pleasant, manageable at my own pace, and not too crowded.

Hello, This review is only meant to be constructive and certainly not a repository of frustrations. There are explanations in every room. It's perfect. Not too long, not too short. Just what you need to understand a particular place. However, we deplore the lack of directional arrows for a logical direction of visit and indication to go into the gardens. In spite of everything, we enjoyed the place without too many worries, despite the vacation period. But also... Some members of the security service, although attentive, were perhaps a little too prescriptive. We came with children to a tourist attraction, not a nuclear or military site. Audioguides were no longer available, but those who had them paid absolutely no attention to other visitors, as if they were alone in the world. In principle, the carts are a good idea. But in the end, walking around the castle is just as stressful as being in traffic in a small town. Even as a pedestrian, you have to be constantly on the lookout for electric cars and bikes, which go far too fast for the circumstances. Keep up the good work!

The outside of the castle was magnificent, it's a little tricky to navigate around once inside, we had the audio tour who was a bit bulky compared to other ones we have used this week.

I simply couldn't go to Chambord because we were stuck with our little dog in our bag, whereas Chenonceau was no problem and Villandry the same, so I donated my tickets for Chambord to a family that was going into the château. Apart from that, the Chenonceau experience was great!

King François I built the Chambord Castle after his victory in the Battle of Marignan in 1515. It was constructed not as a residence, but as the symbol of his power and the French Renaissance. The castle is located inside an enormous park of 5,000 hectares and contains about 400 rooms, over 80 staircases, 365 fireplaces, and plenty of towers, high ceilings, and pointed domes.

A major highlight of your visit here would be the famous double helix staircase. Inspired by Leonardo da Vinci, the open staircase is designed in a way that you can go up one side without meeting or making eye contact with someone who is descending on the other side! Your ticket also gives you access to more than 60 rooms open to the public and to temporary exhibitions (according to the cultural program of the time). Moreover, you can explore the castle's grand gardens, home to a vivid range of flora and fauna, at your own pace.
