Brilliant museum, you can learn about Amsterdam. My 9 year old loved it. Felt like you were going into an Amsterdam home with history blended into it. Lovely staff greeted us and my son had an activity to do throughout the museum and received a prize at the end. As for the miniature models absolutely amazing the details just are wow!!!🤩 loved it recommend to any age people.

We found the exhibition fascinating. The models are amazing and it has just the right amount of historical information - not too overwhelming! Also being a fairly small museum it suited us. Staff were very friendly too.

BEAUTIFUL TO VISIT, found it after visiting another museum and seemed right up my street, popped in and it was so well done, loads of information, interactive and I'm so grateful I found it.

On arrival, present your mobile voucher for entry. Complete ticket validation and any required security checks. Proceed into the museum galleries, where you may collect your audio guide or begin exploring via the on-site video screens.

Miniatuur Museum Amsterdam is the city’s newest cultural attraction, dedicated to presenting Amsterdam’s history through finely detailed miniature models that span centuries of urban, cultural, and architectural evolution.

Features

Dam Square, 1675: Admire a detailed reconstruction of Amsterdam’s historic city centre, capturing the architecture and daily life of the late 17th century.

Red Light District, 1990s: Explore a modern urban district reflecting social and cultural change in late 20th-century Amsterdam.

Zaanse Schans: Discover traditional Dutch heritage through miniature windmills and houses, showcasing the region’s industrial and rural legacy.

Anne Frank House: Observe a carefully rendered scale model offering a glimpse into one of Amsterdam’s most significant historical narratives.

Video screens and audio guides: Enrich your visit with multimedia providing narration and context, allowing you to explore each display at your own pace.

What to bring

Carry a valid photo ID that matches the name on your ticket.

Bring personal headphones if you prefer using your own for audio content.

What’s not allowed

Smoking or vaping is not allowed inside the venue.

Touching exhibits anywhere inside the museum is not allowed.

Food and drinks are not allowed inside the museum and can be stored in the cloakroom.

Accessibility

The museum has limited wheelchair access.

Strollers are not allowed in the exhibition areas.

Certified assistance dogs are allowed inside the museum.

Additional information

The visit lasts around 60 minutes to explore everything.

Children aged 0–2 years can enter for free.

Opening hours: Sunday–Thursday 10 am–6 pm, Friday–Saturday 10 am–7 pm.

Visitors under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

The exhibit line-up and media availability may change without prior notice.

Children must be supervised by an adult inside the galleries.

The museum has an elevator, but it is small (77 × 98 cm) and can only be used with staff assistance.
