It was a good experience... I only had trouble the first time I used it, trying to find a ticket machine to validate my pass and print the tickets... After that, it was very convenient and helpful to have activated my pass online.

Great tour for someone who doesn't have a lot of time to spend visiting the city. Guide was extremely nice. Would like for app to be more user friendly to follow actual bus while traveling.

I found the organization to be good, the buses well-maintained, and the two routes very comprehensive. I recommend starting with the orange route from the World Trade Center and switching to the green route at Plaça de Catalunya. Once you’re back at Plaça de Catalunya, finish the orange route by returning to the World Trade Center.

Great guide, Marc, very knowledgeable and approachable. Group was 25 so a good size. The basillica is just extraordinary! Pictures dont do it justice, you have to see it. Absolutely incredible! I will ask though to please update the meeting point, the restaurant we were given to meet outside doesn't exist anymore, luckily a guide from the company was waiting for us.

Aerobús was the best option to reach my hotel in the Eixample area of Barcelona from Terminal 1 of Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport. The FAQ section Aerobús app recommends purchasing tickets online in advance of your trip (https://www.barcelona-aerobus-tickets.com/faqs/). However that isn't necessary because there are kiosks to purchase your ticket right next to the queue for boarding the bus. The buses have Wi-Fi. Each seat has a USB power port

What does the Hola Barcelona Travel Card include?

Tourists using Hola Barcelona Travel Card at a Barcelona metro station.
  • Barcelona Metro – Travel quickly between must-see areas such as Sagrada Família, Passeig de Gràcia, Barceloneta, and Plaça d’Espanya on the city’s extensive metro network.
  • Airport metro connection – Ride the metro between Barcelona Airport and the city centre without purchasing an additional airport supplement or transfer ticket.

Which Hola Barcelona Travel Card is right for you?

If you want a quick city break

Choose the 48-hour Hola Barcelona Travel Card if you are in Barcelona for a weekend or have two full sightseeing days planned. It is ideal for covering airport travel, central attractions and several neighborhoods without repeatedly buying single tickets. Use it to connect Sagrada Família, Park Güell, the Gothic Quarter, Barceloneta, and Montjuïc-area transport links with ease.

If your flight times give you extra exploration time, the 72-hour card may be better value. It gives you one more full 24-hour period for places farther from your accommodation or for relaxed evening plans before returning by metro or bus.

If you want a relaxed, car-free stay

Pick the 96-hour or 120-hour Hola Barcelona Travel Card for a four- or five-day stay. These options suit travelers who want to mix headline sights with neighborhood exploration, beach time, and spontaneous detours without worrying about fare costs.

The 120-hour option is especially useful if your hotel is outside the historic center or you expect to return to your accommodation between activities. You can travel frequently on the metro, buses, trams and eligible Zone 1 trains while reserving taxis only for the occasions when they are genuinely needed.

Tips to use your Hola Barcelona Travel Card smartly

  • Pick up your physical card before your first journey. The QR-code voucher itself cannot be used directly on public transport.
  • Redeem your pass at Barcelona Airport if possible so you can use the included airport metro immediately.
  • Check the opening hours of your chosen collection point, particularly if your flight lands in the evening.
  • Activate the card only when you are ready to start travelling as validity begins with your first use.
  • Remember that validity runs in 24-hour periods, not by calendar day, so a 48-hour card activated at 3pm on Monday lasts until 3pm on Wednesday.
  • Use the metro for fast, cross-city travel between Sagrada Família, Passeig de Gràcia, Plaça de Catalunya, and Barceloneta.
  • Take buses when your destination is uphill or not directly served by the metro, especially around Park Güell and the hillside neighbouhoods.
  • Use the card for airport metro travel, but do not confuse it with the Aerobus, which is not included in the pass's coverage.
  • Keep a separate payment option ready for night buses, taxis, the Montjuïc Cable Car and any travel outside the included Zone 1 coverage.
  • If you are travelling with young children, note that children under 4 can use public transport free of charge.
  • Do not share the card between your travel companions. Each traveler needs their own Hola Barcelona Travel Card.
  • Check the latest transport notices and collection instructions before leaving your hotel, especially during public holidays or service disruptions.
