You enter directly by scanning the QR code that is in the digital entrance. The audio guide is very good, but it is advisable to have a physical map of the archaeological site.Carolynn

Tickets were easy to obtain. When we arrived at the Herculaneum site we were greeted by the check in lady. We were introduced to the Archaeologist Theresa who was brilliant. The tour started on time with the small group as was promised. We all had headsets and could hear Theresa clearly. Her enthusiasm for her chosen profession was inspiring. I'm so glad she was working with us. I would recommend Theresa and this tour to all who are interested even a little, in the Herculaneum site and its history. You will be drawn in and want to learn more. Herculaneum was the main reason I came to Italy. It was so worth while, I loved every minute. Thank you Theresa!!!Videau

Clear and simple online transaction. The only (big) drawback is the audio guide! Not in its operation, but in its design. The numbers don't correspond to anything on site, you don't know where you are and the sequences follow one another without any significant pause!Keith

Fascinating history, with detailed and engaging discussion by our very knowledgeable guide Antonella. In 2 hours we covered most highlights of the site, and were free to wander afterwards. We also visited the museum displays afterwards to see many artifacts such as pottery, jewelry, and household items which were recovered from Herculaneum. Walking around the archeological site the ancient paving stones are somewhat uneven, so one must walk carefully, but boardwalks in some areas are helpful. We used the Circumvesuviana train to and from Napoli to get to Ecology, from Garibaldi station.Reynaldo

What to expect
Herculaneum
Believed to be of Greek origin owing to its strongly Greek Name, Herculaneum is a town that dates back to the 6th century BC. A site less busy, smaller and better preserved than Pompeii, the town is considered to be among the best preserved examples of life in the first-century. See houses with upper floors intact, the majestic basilica, the marble bath houses, the large spa complex and many more infrastructural elements of this ancient Greco-Roman town.
