This was an extraordinary visit to an extremely well-preserved site, frozen in time. The survival of so many wooden artifacts—cots, room panels, and cupboards—brings the daily life of the era vividly to life. It is incredible to think that 80% of the ancient town remains buried beneath modern Ercolano.

Herculaneum is alot smaller than Pompeii and more intact. It was super interesting to see. The only positive was the fact we had transportation to Pompeii and Herculaneum. We expected to have an actual tour guide and came to find out that was not infact the case. They told us we had to go ourselves and that we needed to use a QR code on our phones to listen to the information. Many people do not travel with a phone or want to use their phones on vacation. When we asked a rep why we didn't have a guided tour he said that isn't how they do it and it is always an audio guide. The attitude was basically "deal with it". When you post it is a GUIDED TOUR people expect a guided tour. We waited in line with everyone else who never paid for a "guided tour". We were also told we didn't have to wait in line and we could go right in and that also wasn't the case. The customer service was not as expected. We were super disappointed.

When we bought the tickets for 4 people, we specifically asked for a French guide for Pompeii and an audio guide for Herculaneum!! Once we arrived, there was no French guide, even though we had paid €314 for our group. The system for Herculaneum was not at all up to our expectations. We are very disappointed with this experience and will not recommend your agency to our friends who are visiting next year.

Poorly communicated information about the buses, and rude people. They demand that you leave your passport in the hands of strangers to be allowed to follow the guide with the radio receiver to hear him. At least the guide, Francesco, is excellent.
