Head to the Tram Station, and enjoy a 15-min ride to Obor Market, one of Romania's biggest and oldest traditional markets. This is an iconic spot in Bucharest, beloved by locals, and visited by some of the most esteemed guests, like President Nixon in 1969! This is the place to learn all about Romanian cuisine- from cheeses and meats to unique spices, you'll find them all! You'll visit a renowned terrace selling “Mititei”, traditional Romanian grilled ground meat rolls, and cold beer- a must-try for all the unhealthy eaters in the house! This is also a great way to mingle with the locals.
After this, hop on a trolleybus and head to yet another area filled to the brim with history, University Square. You'll walk along University Square and Cismigiu Park and learn about the square's most important historical landmarks as you do so. Your unhealthy tour ends on a sweet note as you enter a traditional restaurant for dessert- savor sweet and hot Wallachian doughnuts (called Papanasi)- filled with jam and topped with sour cream.
