This was a very enjoyable tour that kept me captivated all the way throughout. As not much of a measurement goer, I found this to be super digestible with a primary focus on real life perserved artifacts, videos, and photos. I particularly liked the large amount of mixed media usage in order to describe the events and moments as they happened, really giving the patron an emersive experience. The complementary audio was also super informative and easy to use, giving you a great guide as u made your way through the exhibit. I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting the area.

Smooth entry, excellent audio program, wonderfully preserved artifacts, and incredible detail. My one complaint is that being in the last group admitted, we were bombarded with auditory interruptions during our final half hour, so I had to either miss the commentary or repeat it, losing even more time. Why can't you warn people their time is almost up with blinking lights instead? More directional guidance in the Churchill museum portion would have helped speed up the flow as well. Would have been nice to have had a more chronological path to follow.

What an impressive tour. To think of all the personnel that were involved in this massive project during the war and it remained a secret! You can only appreciate it when you go down and see the conditions, the tiny rooms, and the fact that when they all walked away, it was left just as it looked when they walked away. I loved the section that was devoted to the life of Winston Churchill. Take a couple hours of your time and visit this site.

Tickets and the payment optionswere user-friendly. The spaced out Entry times allowed for a reasonable amount of people in the war rooms and the museum. There is a great deal to see and a bit difficult to navigate because of all the exhibits and the zigzag nature of the labyrinth. In the Churchill Museum part, it would have been more instructive if the exhibits had gone in chronological order. I felt myself bounced around in Churchill's life. One of the most instructive exhibits was the multimedia table which took the visitor from Churchill's early life through to his resignation as Prime Minister in 1955. One thing I found really delightful was the timeline recordingof his famous quotes spanning decades, heard in his own voice. I sat on the one little stool right in front of that exhibit for about 15 minutes in listen to his wonderful way with words and priceless sense of humor. I think there should be a much larger bench so that several people could sit down and just spend the time focusing on the recordings of a great orator. Overall, very informative. There does, however, need to be far better signage to the exit, particularly to the single lift. We had difficulty finding that lift. I would recommend the Churchill war rooms to anyone interested in British history!

The site is vast. Bigger than you think. Excellent audio tour. The churchill museum half way through is Excellent. I had tears in my eyes when I saw the union jack flag that was draped over his coffin and letters sent to his beloved wife. Back to the bunker for the map room. The phone room used to call American president. The spare key to number ten . All fantastic details. The construction of the war rooms is explained and details can be seen. Well worth a visit.

  • Hidden beneath Westminster sits the underground nerve centre where Churchill and his inner circle directed Britain’s wartime response during the Blitz. Preserved map rooms, narrow corridors, wartime offices, and personal belongings create an eerily frozen world beneath London’s crowded government streets above.

    Getting started

Head to Churchill War Rooms near Westminster and enter the underground bunker at your selected timeslot. What to expect

Move through underground rooms where wartime maps still hang on walls, telephones remain on desks, and Churchill’s ministers once coordinated military strategy during air raids. Museum galleries reveal Churchill’s life through speeches, personal belongings, letters, photographs, and interactive wartime displays.

    Features:

    • Churchill War Rooms entry included: Walk through preserved underground corridors, map rooms, wartime offices, and communication spaces where Churchill’s government secretly operated throughout World War Two beneath Westminster.

    • Multilingual audio guide inside the bunker: Multilingual audio commentary explains wartime planning rooms, hidden communication spaces, Churchill speeches, preserved artefacts, and daily underground life during Britain’s wartime emergency years.

    • Churchill Museum inside the War Rooms: Museum galleries display Churchill’s personal belongings, handwritten letters, wartime speeches, photographs, and interactive exhibits tracing his life, leadership, and political career.

    • Optional political London walking tour upgrades: Upgrade your ticket with digital sightseeing maps, multilingual Westminster audio commentary, and self guided walking routes covering famous political landmarks across central London.
