Comprising of a whopping crew of 90 dancers, 62 musicians, 32 stagehands and two casts of 50 young students from the School of American Ballet, George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker captivates people from around the world year after year. Apart from its soul stirring background score, the play is also known for its elaborate stage elements, intricate lightings and thought provoking strands that make the viewing experience an extraordinary one. Be stunned by the 40-foot Christmas tree, or giggle at the comic Mother Ginger, whose 85 pounds and nine feet wide costume was a challenge.
The Story
Teleport yourself to a world full of marching toy soldiers, giant Christmas trees, magical flowers, dancing snowflakes and the Land of Sweets! As the clock strikes midnight, a brave little girl turns the tide in a battle between toy soldiers and mischievous mice. Witness a blizzard of ballerinas accompany her on the journey, with breathtaking ballet, sparkling costumes and soulful music. Will she succeed in her endeavours?
