Pro tips to help you make a pick

Second-floor tickets grant access to the 1st and 2nd floors, offering panoramic views of Paris at 115 meters (377 feet). Summit tickets include all three levels, with breathtaking views from Europe’s highest observation deck.

Elevators take you directly to the 1st and 2nd floors, with a separate elevator connecting the 2nd floor to the summit. Stairs (674 steps) to the 2nd floor offer shorter wait times and a closer look at the tower’s intricate structure.

Reserved entry skips the ticket purchase queue. Everyone has to clear the bag check at the tower's base. Elevator access is timed to your slot, while stairs to the 2nd floor has a separate, usually shorter line.

Dining at Madame Brasserie on the first floor includes private elevator access. Reservations do not include access to higher levels like the second floor or summit, but you are free to explore the first floor after your meal.

Tickets sell out fast, especially for the summit. Book online as early as possible—ideally 60 days in advance, particularly during peak tourist seasons.Summit access sells out first, often 60 days ahead in peak season. If gone, try the 2nd-floor tour (separate inventory) or the Grévin and Palais Galliera combos, which use flexible entry rather than a fixed slot.

About Eiffel Tower

The Eiffel Tower, a global symbol of Paris, rises 324 meters high. Built in 1889 by Gustave Eiffel, it boasts three levels, each offering unique perspectives of the city. The top level provides sweeping views of Parisian landmarks, while the first two levels host exhibitions and dining options. Its intricate iron lattice design and nightly light show make it an architectural and cultural marvel.

Did you know?

Gustave Eiffel, the man behind the Eiffel Tower, once had a private apartment on the third floor. Now open to visitors, it still has its original décor, giving a peek into his world and the style of his time.

The Eiffel Tower undergoes repainting every 7 years to preserve its legendary appearance. This meticulous process requires approximately 60 tons of paint to cover the entirety of the structure, ensuring its continued visual splendor.

The Eiffel Tower's height can vary by up to 6 inches, depending on the changing temperature. In summer, the iron expands, and in winter, it contracts.

Acting as a natural lightning conductor, the Eiffel Tower encounters an annual average of 10 lightning strikes. Its towering structure and strategic location contribute to this phenomenon.

Originally pained as reddish-brown, the Eiffel Tower underwent various color transformations before settling into its present hue, known as "Eiffel Tower Brown," blending bronze and brown tones for its distinctive appearance.

Why visit Eiffel Tower?

A Design Wonder

The official website of the Eiffel Tower describes it as a 'veritable technical feat,' and it's true. The tower's construction took two years and two months to complete, and the design is as intricate and complicated as possible. 2 million rivets hold the entire metal structure together, and these metal pieces are so small yet work perfectly to hold the giant edifice.

Contribution to Science

The Eiffel Tower was initially supposed to last only for 20 years after the 1889 Paris World’s Fair. The creator, Gustave Eiffel, found a way to preserve this project and declared it scientifically significant. The tower then served as a site for wind studies, astronomical observations, and a telegraph communications point. Today, it is engraved with the names of 72 scientists to honor their work in their respective fields.

Aerial View

The Eiffel Tower stands gracefully at the height of 324 meters, and from the top, the City of Lights looks breathtaking. Directly to your north, you can spot the Trocadéro gardens, skirted with Palais Chaillot and the museums. Then, you can catch a glimpse of a majestic golden dome – that’s Les Invalides, the final resting place of Napolean. Not to forget, the sight of the Seine River is simply unrivaled.

Unmatched Dining Experience

Some experiences happen once in a lifetime, and a chance to dine at one of the Michelin-starred restaurants, such as Jules Verne, is one of those events. Soak in the enchanting views of Paris and sip on some sparkling champagne as you dig into the exquisite French cuisine with your loved ones. This entire savory encounter is bound to enhance your sensory pleasures!

Spectacular Night Lights

As the night falls, the darkness embraces the City of Lights. Just then, the twilight sensors on the Eiffel Tower activate, and the tower gets covered in the glow of over 20,000 bulbs, lighting up Paris like nothing else. It happens for five minutes every hour of the evening. Fun fact: the illumination takes about 4% of the tower’s yearly energy expenses!

South Entrance

South Entrance

Also known as Entrance 1, the South Entrance is situated on the Champ de Mars side. It’s the more commonly used entrance that takes you straight towards the security checks before entering the Eiffel Tower.

East Entrance

East Entrance

The East Entrance is also referred to as Entrance 2 and offers easier access to nearby landmarks, such as the Trocadero area and the Champ de Mars gardens. This entrance usually has a smaller crowd, thus allowing for a quicker entry.

We bought tickets on the fly through the app—it was quick and easy. Once there, everything is organized to keep the line moving smoothly. After climbing the huge spiral staircase... Wow!!! The view of Paris is breathtaking, magnificent, and impressive!! I’ve visited many tourist spots in Paris over several trips, but I’ve never had time to see everything—and even if I’d planned to, I’d always end up just seeing the Arc de Triomphe from the outside. But this is a MUST-SEE!! On the rooftop terrace, the 360° view of Paris is clearly labeled with the names of all the landmarks. Go check it out—it’s a real feast for the eyes; it’s magnificent!! 😍🤩

Our second visit to Disneyland Paris this August with my son was another wonderful experience! 🎢✨ We enjoyed almost all the rides, had great weather, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only small issues were that it’s a little expensive and part of the train route was closed, which made transportation a bit difficult. Overall, we had a fantastic time. Thank you, Disneyland Paris, for your hospitality and wonderful memories! ❤️🏰

It was a dream come true. It's a spectacular place. The feeling you get from the views on the second floor will be unforgettable. I took the tour with the guide Pascal, a really nice guy, who—even though he told the story in English (that’s what I booked) and despite my limited command of English—I was able to understand him. Plus, at times he gave me explanations in Spanish. I’m so grateful, and I’ll definitely recommend this agency to my friends. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Our visit to the Paris Aquarium was an unforgettable experience! Located right across from the Eiffel Tower, this place offers a fascinating world, full of color and life, where we discovered spectacular species of fish (Surprise! There are even domesticated fish that you’re allowed to touch in the tank), sharks, jellyfish, and many other marine creatures. The atmosphere is relaxing, and the aquarium’s design is impressive, offering moments of delight for both children and adults. I highly recommend booking tickets on Headout because it offers great discounts, saves time, and makes it easy to visit one of Paris’s most beautiful attractions at your own pace. A wonderful experience that I’ll cherish for a long time and that I recommend to everyone visiting the city!

Official Eiffel Tower tickets vs. booking through Headout

The tower's ticket office sells self-guided entry with no guide. Headout sells guided-access tickets as an authorized marketplace: a small-group guide, a reserved elevator slot, and the option to bundle a Seine cruise or second attraction. And plus, you get to skip the separate ticket-purchase line.

What "skip the line" actually means

Reserved-entry tickets get you past the general ticket-purchase queue, the line where walk-up visitors wait to buy same-day tickets. They don't get you past mandatory security screening at the base of the tower, which every visitor clears regardless of ticket type, guided or not.

Elevator access is scheduled to your specific time slot. The stairs route to the 2nd floor (674 steps) runs a separate queue, typically shorter, since most visitors default to the elevator. Guided tours add one more step: a meeting point with your guide before you enter, usually 15 to 20 minutes ahead of your slot.

Which Eiffel Tower ticket fits your day?

2nd Floor Guided Tour

Pick this if you want the core experience at the lowest price.
Skip this if you specifically want summit access.
The catch: summit is a paid upgrade, not included.

Summit Access

Pick this if you want the highest viewpoint and don't mind paying more.
Skip this if the budget is tight and 2nd-floor views are enough.
The catch: it costs more for one extra level.

Seine Cruise Combo

Pick this if you want two Paris landmarks in one outing.
Skip this if you're short on time; this adds a full hour.
The catch: the cruise departure is fixed to your tour time, with no flexibility.

Madame Brasserie Lunch

Pick this if you want a sit-down meal with a view, not a full tour.
Skip this if you want to reach the 2nd floor or summit.
The catch: the elevator only reaches the 1st floor, nothing higher.

What to do if tickets are sold out

View of Champ de Mars from Eiffel Tower, Paris, with crowds and cityscape in the background.

Summit access sells out first, often 60 days ahead in peak season (June to September). If your date shows nothing available:

  • Check the 2nd-floor guided tour separately. It runs its own inventory and tends to sell out later than summit slots.
  • Look at the flexible-entry combos (Grévin, Palais Galliera). These use a different booking window than the fixed-time elevator tours.
  • Consider Madame Brasserie lunch. Different product, but a way onto the tower when tour slots are gone.
  • The stairs route to the 2nd floor is sold directly at the tower, not through guided tickets here, and is worth knowing as a same-day fallback.

None of this guarantees a spot. It just widens what to check before giving up on the date.
