Touring the apartments gave me a glimpse into the lives of my favorite monarch and her husband. The furniture, artwork abd the atmosphere steeoed in tradition was palpable and worth the price of admission. Following that, I toured the Abby and the grounds. Once again I was bathed in tradition and transported to a time where my love for the monarchy gave me comfort as a little boy that all was well with the world. Thank you.

Learning about the history of this beautiful place was amazing! We opted not to use the headphones, as we felt they were a bit cumbersome and left my spouse and I feeling disconnected from one another. We liked being able to chat about what we were seeing and reading about on the signs. The building and grounds were absolutely lovely inside and out!

Holyrood Palace was beautiful and full of history. The visit felt much longer than expected because there was so much to see and explore, but every room was fascinating and worth it. The staff was great, friendly, and helpful throughout the visit. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Edinburgh. Much love from Puerto Rico! 🇵🇷

We definitely enjoyed both Britannia yacht and Holyrood castle visits. The boat is splendid and the visit isvery well organized ! We soecially enjoyed having tea and scones aboard 😎. It was wonderful to discover the residence where Mary, Queen of Scots, once lived. The ruined abbey and the beautiful gardens surrounding this palace are steeped in so much history—it’s hard to imagine! It’s a must-see if you’re visiting Edinburgh.

Loved the free headset with voiceover. I've studied Mary Queen of Scots briefly but didn't know the rich history behind her reign. Reliving the murder of her secretary was mind- blowing!!

Enjoyed seeing the different rooms and the many many portraits . The audio tour was very good covering a lot of history. The timeline was especially helpful. It was a good value.

This experience is wheelchair and pram/stroller accessible, except in some parts of Mary, Queen of Scots' rooms.

Concessionary rates for disabled visitors and a complimentary companion ticket are only available to book directly with Royal Collection Trust.

You may be subject to security checks. Some items may have to be checked in and reclaimed at the end of your visit.

For safety and security reasons, a one-way route operates inside the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

The palace is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Last admission is at 3:15pm from November to March and at 4:30pm from April to October.

Under 5s must be booked with a paid ticket.
