It was like stepping back in time and gave us an insight into what 'Royal' life mainly was like out of the public view . Having tea in the Tea Room was special and the service was impeccable.

Last visited the RY soon after it was opened for visitors. At that time we felt that Prince Philip would have been disappointed with its condition. How things have changed. Maintenace was ongoing and the condition of the ship was very good. Access to the RY was easy and the external stairs made getting from one deck to another very easy. Signage was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful and Virtual Reality to show the engine room was interesting and achieved its aim. However, being able to get inside the real engine room would have been preferred as this would enable one to appreciate the size of the engines, boilers, ancilliary machinery and systems. Our only problem was getting into the Car Park. You might like to take this up with the authorities. The sign showing a left turn suggested a turn to the left from the traffic lights - this led us and 4 others to the Car Park Exit. Moving the sign to opposite the entrance would have helped. Alternatively, at the current location ,alter the left pointing arrow head to have a vertical stem to suggest that one goes straight ahead from the traffic lights before turning left.

We loved the Royal Brittania tour with the audio guide included. Making a reservation online was very simple. The tour guides were always there to help or even take a photo! Going through the history of the royal yacht was so interesting, the numerous amount of photos, only added to the experience. Seeing behind the scenes and the amount of staff it took to maintain the yacht and the royals was amazing. We would highly recommend added this tour to your visit! The 4 personal photos were uploaded by mistake!

A visit to the Royal Yacht is an absolute must! The ship is very well maintained and has lots of "memorabilia" from her days of transporting the Royal Family around the world. The staff are friendly, welcoming and very knowledgeable. The audio guide is full of interesting information. And the on board tea room is a delight - you must try the scones with cream and jam.... delicious!

Smooth entry my sister had no signal just had to give her name all was well. Found the having to have government ID a bit of a worry as all she had was a Trafford senior bus pass with photo on doesn't drive anymore as we weren't going abroad no need for passport I had my drivers license as we are in car but this wasn't requested . Strange request

The whole experience was amazing. My cousin in law and I were the first two visitors of the morning stepping onto the Royal Yacht at 9/30am. We spent over two hours with our Audio Guide which was clear and very informative. We ended the experience with tea and delicious cream scones. It was a highlight experience of our two day stay in Edinburgh.

Allowed to see almost every inch of the ship from the engine room to the Queen's bedroom. Very interesting. Also, very nice restaurant on the ship.
