The meeting point with the staff member was easy to find. The staff member gave us our printed tickets and provided clear instructions. We were able to visit the dome, the crypt, the baptistery, the bell tower, and the museum. We were able to do so at our own pace, taking breaks between each stop. There was also a luggage storage service for backpacks, which was included. We used the audio guide, and it was great. With three teenagers, it wasn’t too long or too boring. The commentary during the guided tour was relevant and interesting, allowing us to learn more about what we were seeing. I highly recommend it. The only minor downside was that we would have liked to have been better informed about the dress code required to enter the cathedral (shoulders covered, shorts and skirts at knee length).

I was a bit skeptical as I have never heard of this company, but everything was actually easy and great! We met up right outside the dome, he explained a few things and gave us our tickets, which were the "Brunillesci pass". Besides the dome climbe, we also had access to the church, baptistery, museum, bell-tower AND the held our luggage on our last day (next to museum)!!! Great deal & value! Will def book with Headout again!

The tour guide was full of information that you need, very specific and very patient to explain it all. All 5 places was unspeakable beautiful. Recommendation is to go slowly. Only visit to Cupola have specific time everything else you choose when. Entry to church after 1pm there is no much crowd inside. And Opera museum leave for the last, Pieta is gorgeous

The admission process was fine, but it would have been helpful to let us know that we had to check our backpacks at the coat check before entering. We waited 20–30 minutes before entering, only to be denied entry because of our backpacks. I had to run to drop them off, and we caught up with the group just in the nick of time. We weren’t the only ones in this situation. Please add this to the admission procedure. Otherwise, the climb up to the Duomo is worth it, and so is the cathedral itself.

What’s not allowed

Large bags and backpacks are not allowed inside the Complex. Please remember that there are no cloakrooms at the site.

Flash photography, tripods, filming equipment, food, and drinks are not permitted inside the Cathedral.

Pets (except service animals) are also prohibited.

Children under the age of 7 are not allowed to climb the Dome or the Bell Tower. Those between the age of 7-14 must be accompanied by an adult.

Accessibility

An accessible entrance is located on the right side of the Cathedral for guests with motor disabilities. The dome climb is not suitable for wheelchair users or people with motor disabilities.

Additional Information

The fee is only for the audio guide, since Cathedral entry is free.

The Cathedral is open to visitors from Monday to Saturday, 10:15am to 3:45pm. It remains closed on Sundays and during religious celebrations.

Entry is subject to a security check and dress code compliance (knees and shoulders must be covered. Sleeveless tops, short, and other revealing clothing are forbidden).

Download the audio guide to your phone before your visit. Mobile network access may be limited inside the Cathedral.

The complex’s staircases are narrow and steep, expect a physically demanding climb.
